Yes, you will get a forfeit. You won't get a win but you'll move to his rung.

Is there any way to know how active a person is by looking at their profile or something? ex. showing the last time the person logged into this site

Also is there a way to tell if I am getting close to the 48 hour limit to get a forfiet for a match i requested?

the first question will be helpful so I dont have a reoccurence of the second question. I would hate to move up the ladder by just forfieting matches left and right. It would be funny to see the battle of the unbeatens "Sarmis 6-0 vs iziMpisi 0-0 (6)" for the top spot of the ladder.

Some people may be quite active, but because this ladder lacks sufficient notification options, they may miss a match.

Petachoks challenged me last week, and was surprised to get a forfeit, because he never saw my response to his challenge. I hope that doesn't meant there was a bug where I responded to the challenge but it never updated his admin page ...

The ladder needs more and better notifications, for matches, responses, and reminders of upcoming matches to email or IM.
