gonna leave it at one post. because we've had this exact same discussion too many times. i do not believe in banning guns, but in gun control after long and smart discussions and examinations of the issues of gun violence in this country. and that ain't happenin' on twl.
but for this image - yes cars can kill people and do often. why is it different than a gun? because a car is not designed to kill people and kill people only. it's designed to move someone and things from point a to point b. big fuckin difference. why people still can't see that point is beyond me.
why is it different than a bomb? well you can't just go out and buy a bomb. yes both a bomb and a gun are designed to kill things, and kill things only, but any yahoo can just go buy a gun in so many places, you can't go and buy well-made bombs like at a gun store in THIS country. so that's the difference with a bomb. that's why there aren't so many bombing deaths in the USA. you actually gotta do research and perform a little bit of chemistry and make a real effort.
a gun? pretty darn easy to get at places like virtually unregulated gun shows. just fork over some money and you now have a device that is purely designed to kill with no other effort than that.
for people that can't understand the difference between those three things. although i doubt a single one gets it.
