A serious thread about tribes 2

I am hoping this thread gets taken seriously and not locked or deleted because the subject and body of this thread has the word tribes 2 in it. With that being said, I have grown up checking this forum. I would check it often and reply when I could. I still find myself coming here out of habit even though the tribes 2 forum is no longer here. I check it hoping someone like hexy or a tribal community member would post something, anything, related to tribes 2. See, I think what the admins at twl did proved a point but at the same time I think we clearly understand the rules now. The TWL admins should reopen the tribes 2 forums and moderate it. At this point the ones who go out of their way to post something idiotic are clearly asking for bans. This is an opportunity to weed out the parasites. I promise you that once that's handled with the forum it's regulars will conduct themselves the right way.

I didn't think the Tribes 2 forum people were all that bad. HeXy is kinda funny... he's an excellent troll.

It's fun to just troll back and forth with him spouting nonsense... makes me laugh. Certain General Forum people are just very susceptible to trolling... Like Snake, for example...

I actually like the new influx of people in this forum.

I do too. Hexy is obviously just a troll trying to fire up some of the others in the GF. Im fine with it. I just think alot of people live in the past and to have a section on the forum for a game that is not even in competition here and is almost 15 years old, whats the point? So maybe 6-8 people can post in their on a daily basis and start shit?
We already have the GF for that.

I would say 40% of posts were tribes 2 related. A lot of threads were about another revival of the game, which has happened over and over since it starting dying. The game launched in 2000 or 2001, a sequel to tribes 1. Tribes 2 had ladders for gaming but weren't very active. However, at the games 10 year anniversary we launched a huge fantasy draft style tournament (which twl.com played a role in). It had about 250 sign ups, or so. This brought back tons of competition and it lasted nearly 11 seasons. Pubbing still happens but the numbers are lower. Another point is that this community of ours has gone on for so long that twl's forum was a way for friends to keep in touch, as a whole. It's really just our forum home.

I thought they deleted it because it was getting very roudy in it with personal attacks and other shitz?

The cesspool got nixed and we moved along its a part of life growing up and all.

It was shut down because of 2 individuals really.

1. There was one member who threatened some people etc. and trash talked a lot of people. Should have been warned and then banned or whatever by an admin...

2. There was a member (rJay) who confessed on irc that he was dating a 14 year old girl (he was a 19 year old man) and he received A LOT of personal attacks on the forums for being a pedo because the community wanted him to go away. rJay made A LOT of posts about useless crap so there were A LOT of posts about his pedo antics which made the forums look like some kind of weird cesspool at first glance unless you dug deeper to find the root of the issue.

So basically instead of dealing with this stuff they just removed the forum. It was the easier thing to do and I'm sure a lot of the posts about him being a pedophile made the website look bad so you can't really blame them for doing it.

It could have been saved though if someone would have just taken the time to figure out what was going on and take care of both of those issues.

Noo need to save it. Welcome to the new world order of hope and change where bans and forum deletions is easier to do. Got to keep it simple and work free (AKA Unionized) these days so peoples feelers are not hurt. Am I right?
