I'm thinking about leaving and I've also lived here my entire life. I'm tired of taxes as are about 60% of us from a recent news article I read. The odd thing about the article was that an overwhelming majority think the rich don't pay enough taxes here.

I will be taking some time to visit some places around the country in the next few months. Anyway, just thought is was interesting if you are a native with you view on things. I guess in a way it makes sense you are from California because a lot of liberals thinkers live here.

I don't really associate my views as being liberal or conservative. Mainly I just go with how I feel about a certain subject. All in all I despise politics and find it to be an incredibly boring subject - the people that find it interesting, imo, just happen to watch news programs a lot and don't know what real entertainment is.

As for California becoming a shitty place to live because of how expensive it is to live here, you'd be right. A lot of people can't afford to live here anymore but still do because it would be less expensive to pick up everything and move to another state "starting over". My parents both actually plan on moving to a state like Utah within the next couple of years, which I think is silly because I hate Utah and Mormons in general - my Dad just happens to be a big fan of the state/economy/low taxes.

Personally I'll probably be moving out of California within the next couple of years as well - just because it is too expensive to live here. It's a beautiful place to live, but I sure as hell can't afford it. Thinking probably Colorado just because of the weed. Plus that's one of my career options/ideas at this point is to move into the whole marijuana industry so Colorado would be perfect.

i am a great californian because:

i hate guns, i have an irrational fear of them.

i hate cops, but i want more laws. billions of them.

i love taxes, but i hate having to pay for any of them myself. that's what others are for.

preferably wealthy people who can still find employment here. the more they pay in taxes the better i feel about myself and our collective contribution.

i know the state is having a drought, that food prices are exploding, so lets steal all the water so rich so cal suburbanites can water their lawns and keep them green.

i know a living wage is essential, because everything is already far too expensive here. so paying certain people more money, for all basic services, everywhere, will somehow help make stuff cheaper somehow.

i want to smoke weed, but not legally. only with the blessing of a doctor and bean counting bureaucrat somewhere. i want to kiss a lot of rings to do something i want to do that doesn't involve anyone else.

i also want regular smoking outlawed, even of e-cigs, because smoke is gross and it is a terrible habit that I don't enjoy. if i don't enjoy it, it should be illegal.

i know our state is broke, as a joke, but it doesn't mean we can't fire a few essential people, plus raise taxes some more, to send more illegal immigrant kids off to college for free.
