+2.
Or jailhouse rape would have been acceptable. Either one.

SPOILERS!!!
I am so happy... BUT I wish he dies an even slower and more painful death and he was tortured too.. FUCK HIM. Sorry I am very angry at that kid. lol
Okay, so on to who we think killed him?

NO BOOK SPOILERS, THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE READ THE BOOKS!

I don't think it was Tyrion. He's too smart for that. Or at least too smart to do it openly and then get caught holding the smoking gun poisoned goblet.

I think Sansa had something to do with it. Notice how when she handed the goblet back to Tyrion, her hand kind of passed over the top like she could have dropped something in it. Or maybe that was just a trick they did for the TV show.

It's interesting the fool (drunk former knight guy) told her if she wanted to live, she had to leave right away, before Joffrey was poisoned. I don't know what to make of that. Perhaps Sansa conspired with him to poison Joffrey, so he was in on it? She was wearing the necklace he gave her. Hmmm....

Another thing I thought was strange, they showed a very brief shot of the inside of the cake/pie after Joffrey cut into it. It was so brief I couldn't see anything inside, so not sure what to make of that, either.

Maybe it was the Melisandre's magic with the leeches?

Either way, I'm glad the little shit is dead, but I wonder what Cersei is going to do to Tyrion? *shudder*

I also don't think Shae is in the clear, either. Even though Bronn said she's safe (and I believe him) I bet she's not.

Good episode. Not as "OMG! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" as the Red Wedding, but still a good one.

I think they were just showing the dead doves that he killed while slicing open the cake.

Now I wonder, if it's part of tradition to "break" the cake gently so all doves release and fly away? Perhaps killing however many was sort of a traditional "bad luck" thing going on.

Either way, just some speculation. Read the books. Don't recall much detail about the cake dove tradition.
Well, Tywin wanted to Shae before the wedding and Shae did work in the kitchen. Bronn also may be Tyrions merc but he can be bought. I think Tywin can see that Joffrey is going to be a bad king so they conspire to kill him.

Remember, every shot during the wedding of the spider, he never smiles and looks pissed.
He is considering quitting acting. He received real life death threats over playing Joffrey. He's just a kid.

I just watched it again and during the wedding feast, Olenna Tyrell walks up to Sansa and talks about how bad it was to murder a man at a wedding. If you look closely, she is messing with Sansa's hair and then grabs at her necklace the drunk knight gave her. I read that the stones on that necklace are poison. The next scene, there seems to be a stone missing. I think she gave the stone to the new queen and she put it in his cup when joffrey put it down to swing at the big cake.

Olenna (possibly working with Tywin) or Cersei are my choices.

These guesses are very entertaining.

Yep. Every time I introduce someone to the series (book and/or show), I tell them to let me know their predictions and reactions so I can get the same entertainment.
I tried reading the books, but I got halfway through the second one and stopped.

Books are too strenuous and require too much effort.

It's so much easier for me to plop my fat ass in front of the screen for an hour each week while I chow down on my Big Mac and fries.

Thats America!
Finally caught up lastnight... Yes! Glad that vile piece of shit is dead. Well deserved andnot soon enough.

Here's my guess: Who has the most to gain from this? I would say the Tyrell's. Marjory has stated she wants to be queen since her introduction... but I think it's that sly old granny behind it, especially given what she said to Sansa about a man dying at his wedding, but the camera angles dont help support it. My take is that they have watched that little punk to confirm what Sansa told them when they first arrived. Granny probably thought that Joffery would eventually treat her grand daughter the same as he did Sansa. So yeah, Joffery had to go. But I think that Tyrion is nothing more than a distraction and seems way too obvious regardless the way he was treated right up to shithead's death.

Also, granny prolly feels bad for Sansa and arranged for the jester to get her ass out of there, but to where I dont know either. That in itself makes Sansa look guilty (even though she has plenty of reason to want to see his ass dead but doesnt prove she did it... way too innocent / naive in my opinion).

So if I were to bet money, it's on granny. She may be an old bat, but she sure as hell isnt a fool.

Based on the previews for next week, it looks like the new queen isnt actually queen anymore??? Ragesauce Cirsi isnt gonna allow Marj to be queen if she has anything to do with it and I dont see grandpa Tywin letting the tyrell's keep power either. lol, fuck no.

Idk, havent read the books and glad I havent. Keeps me interested.
Margery and Joffrey never consummated the marriage, so it wasn't "official" just yet, as I understand it.

There was a pretty good breakdown of stills leading up to his death that was pretty good if you missed exactly how it all goes down. Tricky Tricky old women.

I just watched the second episode in Rewind.

I just watched it again last night, and I think I spotted some things being hinted about in this thread.

One of the things was...it sure looked like one of the pendants on Sansa's necklace was missing after Olenna Tyrell fingered it. I'd have to go compare it to the earlier episode where the knight gave it to her and count them.

Tricky tricky old woman indeed?
