Anybody else pissed off about this? It was one thing when it was the NBA, since that's not real basketball, but hockey is actually a real sport. And only after a few years since the last one.
They are absolutely within their rights to quit playing and demand more money. Just as the teams should be within their rights to simply fire anyone who doesn't want to play. And it's definitely within the fan's rights to stop paying to see the games until the players and agents get their collective heads out of their giant douchenozzle asses.
Unfortunately, here is how it is going to play out. The fans are all going to bitch and moan. The players will stay on lockout and miss another season. Next year, when hockey starts up, mankind will unanimously give a great cheer and glady pay to see hockey, because they have been starving for it. The players will learn only that being greedy pays off. The rich will get richer, the masses will be satisfied, everything will go smoothly until the next strike. And the Oilers will be a contender again, because we get all the first draft picks.
I stopped going to games after the last strike. Stopped getting the NHL package as well. I love hockey, but fuck if I'm gonna pay that much money to a bunch of greedy fuckers. I watch whatever is on free tv.
Yes very ticked off. But honestly both sides kind of did it to themselves.
In reality to make the NHL work & work well. Pull all these damn teams that are in cities that have no business playing hockey.
Put all your teams in the north, midwest, northeast, northwest, Canada & you'll see sold out arenas in every single game. & it will be a much better brand of hockey.
Hell, put a team in Maine, they are huge hockey fans there. Same thing with North Dakota.
Denver is about the furthest south any hockey team needs to be. Post edited by Stoneymontana at 9/16/2012 3:47:32 PM
It's funny they aren't refunding my money for season tickets though. And I got laughed at (NO SHIT) when I said I'd be expecting a reduction in the cost of our private box.
