need technical help - jscript file that contains bookmarks

I exported a list of visual bookmarks for backup from a now defunct site called homepagestartup.com I was able to import that list into browser and other apps.

Now, a year or more latter I need that backup. When I open the folder containing the file is is a Jscript file. I have no idea if that was the original format or not, although I would assume I would normally export into a simple HTML format.

I don't use Jscript files so I am not familiar with it at all. It can not be imported into Opera, Firefox, or IE. I tried using Firebug in Firefox but I am a jscript noob so all I can get is the a screen full of code.

Is there a way to open the file so I can see the bookmarks and possible copy/export them to another file type like HTML?

Second question is I am using a visual bookmark site called Tidyfavorites.com They don't offer an export option. Would there be a way to export the links I set up on that site? Prefer to keep the grouping and structure but if all I could get was a list that would have to do.

Any help from someone who knows what they are talking about would be greatly appreciated.

Thought jscript files were add-ons used by Firefox, like the scripts used in Ikariam.
It may be a file created from Firefox. Json is common for Firefox export of bookmarks. But I can't import it into a new instance of Firefox, Opera, or IE.

Is there a way to convert it to HTML? Is there a way to import it into Firefox?

Meh?

Or try:

Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Restore -> Choose File -> Pick your JSON file.

There was a syntax error in your JSON string.
parseJSON
Please check your syntax and try again.

That converter was what I was hoping would work. It might be possible the file is corrupted.

I will try the bookmark again. I have to use a portable version of Firefox on my USB so I don't screw up my current version. Have to shut down and open the portable to try.

Thank you for the help.
Just to show off my complete lack of knowledge with java, I assumed it was a json file that came from firefox. But it says file type jscript.

When I try to restore and it asks me to select a file, this file does not appear because it must not be that format. If I select all files instead of json and try to force the file it says "unsupported file type"

here is an image of the file name and type
