no bashing, but if the USgov and the pro-war folk really believe this is about freeing the Iraqi people, why not free the rest of the world? Why single out Iraq and leave everyone else to die?It is called operation iraqi freedom, why not operation eritrea freedom? They're already supporting us, shouldnt take much to set the people free.

if you're not being sarcastic, you are living in a dreamland if you think the USA can do anything. the real world is not a GI JOE cartoon and to pre emptively attack china is paramount to global suicide.

I wish the dali lama could return from exile tho and that the tibetans could have religious freedom again.

We have liberated Afghanistan..
We have liberated Iraq..

And these operations are sending a clear message to surrounding middle eastern countries to clean up their act as well.. Syria has since the operation in Iraq began taking steps to give woman the right to vote and to an education.. We are kicking ass, and we are liberating.

We have liberated two countries in only one year - your saying were not doing it fast enough?

-Naut
By the way..

The United States has liberated more countries than every single other country on the face of the earth combined. We have sent more foreign aid through money and food than any other country on the face of the earth.. don't accuse America of not standing out from the crowd.

And, trust me.. more countries will be liberated.

You want us to attack 20 countries at once?

-Naut
attacking any country based on ideology has a name. imperialism. so far is this war, the US has proven a good deal of the concerns of the arab world wrong. outside a few blunders, we have not come across as invaders. I dont exactly think liberators applies either. but thats just me being a cynical lefty :P

anyone that suggests that we spread democracy thru percision guided bombs and m16s to the entire planet is well, unaware, short sighted, and narrow minded.

fair enough post DuK

However, I don't think anyone has ever said the use of military force a tool of democracy. It is not. The military is (or should, depending on who you ask) when democracy has failed.

Do you usually post without thinking?
"Significantly, five of the sixteen most repressive countries--China, Cuba, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Syria--are members of the Human Rights Commission, representing nearly 10 percent of the 53-member body."

.......hmmmmm

ok, if we talk about a single country, it cannot be combined with any other or itself...

think about it

"a·ri·a (n.)

2)An air; a melody.

3)The act of leaving one's capitalization lock on(i.e. Pulling an Aria)

When we need the resources they have we will rush to thier aid...
as much as people say it is, the war in iraq was not about liberating the iraqi people. that was a nice little thing for the bush administration to throw out there (like al qaida being connected to iraq but that was total bs), the reason we went into iraq was for our own protection. our goal was not to liberate afghanistan either, it was to punish them for harboring those responsible for 9/11 and protect ourselves from terrorists. it doesn't matter whether u thought the war was right or wrong, but we DID NOT GO IN TO LIBERATE THE IRAQI PEOPLE.
