iPad Applications for Business

So the wife's laptop went on the fritz tonight. It's a Dell Vostro 1510, which apparently has a reputation for the DC socket going loose after a while.

Ok, so I'll get it diagnosed (but not at the place that did my main computer when the CPU fried).

In the meantime, I'm trying to set her up so that her iPad can be used. She has the ZAGG bluetooth keyboard, so ergonomics are not as much of an issue.

All of her business files are on the NAS, which is setup as network file shares. There is an application that is native to the NAS that will allow me to access the files, but I'm restricted to viewing and printing them from within the application. She can't edit, and unless the printer is connected via USB to the NAS then it won't show up. So...

1. I need a way to access the files on the network file share. The NAS is using a static, internal IP address.

2. I need a way to print from any application to the WiFi connected printer (HP Photosmart Premium). While its IP is dynamic, I can easily set it to a static, internal IP address.

3. I need a good word processor that will read at least Office 2007, but (ideally) 2010 files too. I don't care about the other Office applications save for email. (I can figure out a way to handle that, however.)

Help?

Thanks. I've seen this one before.

My bigger concern is the need to sync the files to the device first. There is no way to access a network attached file share directly?
