When my parents divorced, my father also didn't pay child support, or honor other agreements he made regarding me. He may not have been a billionaire, but he was pretty well off financially. The point is, I have issues with my father, but I don't think he deserves to suffer for 7 years from pancreatic cancer, and then die a slow and painful death. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

I'm sorry, I'd thought I'd wait on this, but the gushing this morning on the news is pissing me off.

He was perhaps an 'inspiration in refining and marketing technology'. But his success had little to do with inventing the core concepts for those devices.

PC's existed before the Apple I.
MP3 players (with and without hard drives) existed before iPods.
Digital music stores existed before iTunes.
Smartphones existed before the iPhone.
Tablets existed before the iPad.

The one exception was the Newton which you could credit him with Pioneering the PDA. But, it failed. Then a few years later someone else came out with a refined PDA that took off. A shoe on the other foot for a change for Jobs.
