The football team that us. However the state is beautiful. I'm planning a trip up to Traverse city and torch island. Anybody have ideas and good places to visit?

Thanks

Is that a bar up there? You probably don't know since you have been away for so long.

When are you going? Head further north & hit up Petoskey & Harbor Springs, the fall foliage is the best around there. If you drive north of Harbor Springs along the M-119 that follows the coastline up to Cross Village, that's one of the greatest drives you'll ever see. Big cliffs looking down to Lake Michigan. Unbelievable any time of the year, in the fall, forget about it.
I was a Sous Chef at The Inn at Bay Harbor in petoskey when it opened. Waterfront restaurant, bars near by in walking distance, fantastic places to stay & some of the best golfing in the country around there.

I used to live in Harbor springs on M-119

I heard that the dark alleys of Detroit are a must-see.

Lots of places in & around Detroit that you do not want to be a white person driving around in.

Go stay in Petoskey then, it's full of very well known bed & breakfast homes. & i do mean HOMES!
I am going to assume you mean Torch Lake, as I don't believe there is a 'Torch Island' in Michigan.

If you are going to Torch Lake, there will be no shortage of B&B's to choose from.

I would also suggest spending a day at Sleeping Bear. And if your girlfriend golfs, play Arcadia Bluffs as long as you are going to be over there. One of the nicest public courses in the country.

Yes. It is on the way up there. It is just north of Manistee.
