N korea going down 1st ,inspections would be more prevaliant however, as we don't want china getting too involved.
Good. these countries need to learn somehow.
Well seeing that NK threatened Japan today I think things over there are going to get alot worse rather quickly. NK also announced that any UN action against it will "Remove all possibility of a peaceful solution to the nuke problem"

Sounds like the nutcase running that country has really gone off the deep end
who was it who said NK was not a threat and was like a little kid?

If they were a 3rd world country we could trounce in a month they'd be a prime target.
But they can fight back.

Looks like we're going to have to test our uber-wepons in more 3rd world nations before we take on the big fish.
Not at all. Every single country would back us on this. Several different cultures are threatened by them. They are saying they will attack, etc. This war would be just as easy as Iraq.
Also, read today that Queen Noir opened her retarded mouth. I love it how dictatorships are now worried about the US and Arab relations. What she should have said was she was worried that the Arab Dictatorships will all soon crumble.
the difference is... Iraq hasnt used WMD (IN THIS WAR) (And probably cant/wont, but i dont wanna eat my words on that one), N Korea has threatend to do so repeatedly.

I dont think war with korea will be ANYTHING like war in Iraq, we found out that a korean war has different rules back in the day, and if bush's advisors are smart (god help us if he's calling the shots), we'll try to deal with it diplomaticly (and why not? double standards are breeding like rabbits.)

I think its gonna go, Syria (just cause it's cheap, our guys are already there N. Korea unless they do something really public b4 we get our Syria war plans finalized, then Libya and maybe Iran. After that, if we are still in a good, get people he freedoms they deserve mood, we'll go into parts of Africa and kick the death squads out of those countries.

LMAO. Cobalt. What do you call the 100,000 kurds gassed to death by VX, Mustard and Anthrax??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/

I would call those WMD

Not to mention the other 900,000 killed by Saddam by various death methods

As for Diplomacy. Bush did the best I have ever seen. He let 12 years of diplomacy happen and then cleaned up the mess. God Bless him. He is a true leader

I think we need to slow our roll for a little while and mend some fences. NK and nukes is serious shit and that problem needs to be solved diplomatically while we surround that peninsula with Aegis class destroyers. Iran and Syria hopefully just got the picture and will straighten up. This thing with NK is scary. Those fools will go nuke with a quickness and we REALLY need to avoid that. They can't hit us, but nukes on anybody's soil is a bad thing. We need to put assloads of patriot missile batteries in Japan, and put as many Aegis platforms as we can between them and NK.
I'm not for any more war just yet. We need to let shit cool out and see if people got the picture that we aren't screwing around. That's two governments we've changed in the last two years, and if the local dictator club is smart they'll realize we can do it to them also.
I'm hoping NK is just talking mad smak because they are scared of getting into it with us. Bush calling them out was not a good idea.

Agreed. We need to get Iraq back on its feet and toward freedom and democracy before we start looking for any "next" country.

Guys.. trust me, almost every country on the face of the earth will support an attack on Korea if they continue on the path that they are. I'm sure their citizens are starting to fear us, and in that they are most likely thinking their president is fucking nuts.. with enough pressure by the world, there will be no war.

I hope China gets on their ass big time. I can't stress how much I hope this gets solved diplomatically. I don't care if they can hit the US mainland or not; I do not want to see nukes going off anywhere on our planet. Besides the massive loss of life, the global economy will take a nose dive and we'll be right back in 1930.
Bush needs to chill out; calling the NK out was a bad idea and imo caused them to restart their nuke program. Bush has put us right in the middle of a nuclear problem. Doom on all of us.

It's hilarious to me that we can march in and take over a country like iraq in 21 days (and without sustaining heavy casualties) but people still bad-mouth the strategic prowess of Bush and his advisors.

To the people whose minds are too puny to comprehend the unprecedented military might of the US, just go back to your small worlds and play in your sandbox.

And to the idiot to compared a war with Korea to the Korean War, that comparison is as retarded as the people who claimed Desert Storm Part 1 was like Vietnam and didn't learn from that and continued to compare Desert Storm Part 2 to Vietnam. Face it, you don't know anything about the modern American machinery of war and its untapped potential in enforcing order throughout the world.

I do believe that was former Prez William Clinton in an interview with some news person.
OH yeah.

War with NK would be NOTHING like war with Iraq.

NK - Mountains and trees = alot less tanks = alot more foot soldiers being used.

IQ - Desert lots of tanks moving rather quickly.

NK - 1 MILLION man Army
IQ - 200,000

NK - Nukes
IQ - no Nukes

NK - Certified physco
IQ - Certifeid physco
okay that one is a tie

NK - bridges into NK already wired to blow along with millions of mines along DMZ
IQ - wide open desert.

This list can go on and on.

Comparing these two is like comparing apples and oranges

Actually they should learn from Iraq. Iraq screwed up. They would be wise to see their errors and correct them.

Watching what has transpired on the battlefield, after listening to all the bickering from anti-war rep's about how we're going to kill hundreds of thousands of people and it's illegal and this and that.... to them I say this -

At one point in time, while under the direction of arrogant leaders, yes... we did do stupid things like that. Vietnam is a prime example. We can thank Truman for getting us there. We can thank Truman for funding the French and their colonial ambitions. We can thank President Johnson and his war hawks (yes, I just said war hawks Cimat!) for pretending to know wtf they are doing; when in fact they had no clue and those that did were ignored. Not to mention the fact that no President went to Congress for approval of action in Vietnam. We lost some 57,000 Americans and who knows how many POW's due to their stupidity.

Present day is different. We're not out for body counts; we certainly aren't funding the French or any other country out to occupy & colonialize anything; and our current President is smart enough to let the military make the military decisions & go to Conress for approval & to seek a new resolution from the UN. He did all of those things.

As a result, we see quite the success in Iraq thus far; with very few American & Civilian casualties. This was organized and ran by General Franks and not President Bush. General Franks has even given decision making in the cities to commanders on the ground. So decisions are being made by people actually there and not "in the rear with the gear".

I'm thankful not for war, but that we had the right people in here when we went to war. After reading, hearing, learning and actually remembering the mistakes made by leaders of my father's generation... I think to those times and see just how far this nation has come. And we have come a long way.

Iran, Syria & especially N.Korea would be wise to see this and know that if they push the United States... after the US goes thru all the hoopla and is pushed into war mode; they are pretty much going to get pwned.

All 3 of those nations can and should be dealt with thru the UN. Although Syria may have just blown that by aiding the enemy But... anyhow, these countries have a chance to correct themselves and find some sort of happy medium diplomatically. I hope they do. I can't fathom anyone 'wanting' to go to war with any country.

But if they flirt with the dogs of war, then that's exactly what they will get. And as such, as the topic says, it would be wise for them to "Learn from Iraq." The action on the ground will be swift & decisive. The munitions used will be harsh but precise. And the resolve of the troops, if pushed to war, will be unwavering.

/me steps off podium

I was given a disturbing link showing iraqi casualties. saw a lil boy about 10 yrs old with his head cracked open like an egg. nearly made me puke. care to justify that anyone?

Justify innocent life taken? There is none.

Would you care to justify men, women & children hung on meat hooks and beat to death because they have a difference of opinion than their government?
i am sure i saw the same pic you did btw... and yes it is very disgusting and it's horrible. No justification for the death of the innocent.

The day the world finds a workable solution to terrorism, geopolitical indifferences and greed I am sure those types of things can be avoided.

I don't think this world has found that answer yet.
Saddam BUTCHERED 1 million of his own people. How would you like to explain that you family died of Mustard Gas? A truly painful death that liquifies you while you live.

Yes, its tragic that civilians have died. Its more tragic that we didnt act sooner

You couldn't, because you'd have been dead from the same Mustard Gas.

Speaking of which, why didn't they call it Catsup Gas or Horseradish Gas or something? How 'bout Honey Dijon Mustard Gas?

I think Mustard Gas is made from derivatives of the mustard plant. Not sure though

No! Are you serious???

Categorized as a blister agent, mustard gas refers to several manufactured chemicals - many used in household products - that don't occur naturally in the environment. Sulfur mustard is among them.

Mustard gas is really a liquid and is not likely to change into a gas immediately if it is released at ordinary temperatures. As a pure liquid, it is colorless and odorless, but when mixed with other chemicals, it looks brown and has a garlic-like smell.

Mustard gas was used in chemical warfare and was made in large amounts during World Wars I and II. It was reportedly used in the Iran-Iraq war in 1984-1988. It's presently used in the United States for research purposes. The U.S. Secretary of Defense was instructed to destroy all remaining stocks of lethal military chemical agents, including mustard gas, by 1997.

Mustard gas has been a favorite chemical weapon in wars because it can be fairly easily delivered via conventional bombs, rockets and artillery shells and because mustard gas contamination can render an area unusable by enemy forces.

Experts say making mustard gas is easier than making nerve gases but harder than weaponizing industrial chemicals such as chlorine. It would take vastly more mustard gas than nerve gas to kill the same number of people, limiting mustard gas' appeal to terrorists.

What Are the Symptoms of Exposure?

Mustard gas can burn skin, cause blisters and cause respiratory effects, such as coughing and bronchitis. Higher levels may cause death. It is also more harmful to the skin on hot, humid days, or in tropical climates. Mustard gas makes the eyes burn, eyelids swell and causes a person exposed to blink a lot. Skin exposure can cause second- to third-degree burns.

If one breathes mustard gas, it can cause coughing, bronchitis and long-term respiratory disease. If one is exposed to a large amount of mustard gas, victims can eventually die from it. Symptoms appear one to six hours after exposure. Mustard gas also attacks a cell's DNA, so it can cause cancer and birth defects

and to the idiot that apparently has no memory of 9th grade history- I know a fair amount about the modern american machinery of war, I may not be a tank commander, but I do know what most of our wepons can do.

We can sure as hell plough a 10 mile swath through korea and leave nothing alive in its wake, but that's not the point of THIS kind of war, a war of "liberation" should have the LEAST possible death and destruction in order to put in place a new govt and not leave the people bitter and wanting revenge for their loved ones killed in the process.

There is no winner in war, everyone loses. The only way we can all come out ontop is through non-violent means.

Colmbes is an idiot. Hannity is good, but Colmbes reminds me of Max Headroom, i.e. just spews out a buncha nonsense and has no clue how to stand on his own.

I love O'Reilly, btw. I don't always agree with him, but I love his method of getting to the heart of the matter, and rather quickly at that.

I work across the street from the Fox studio. Maybe one day I'll hold up a sign during the Neil Cavuto Show that says Dominus for President!

sadly enough, I agree.

n korea is a completely different animal than iraq. risking a nuclear holocust, whether its in japan, the korean peninsula or the american west coast is not acceptable, ever, under any circumstances.

I do think the UN should proceed with more sanctions tho and call thier bluff.

Goodnews about NK is its a secular gov't. Its harder to deal with religious fanatics than a communist regime. Also, our policy of not paying blackmail is 100% right. I find it scary that certain politicians want to appease NK and pay their bribes. NK better learn. They are a dying country and threats do nothing but isolate them further. Even Russia doesnt back them currently.
