take about half that GFS model and you'll probably be closer to the mark...thats how it's been this year.
Dammit I just got a haircut and trimmed the beard up!

Wait, am I reading that right? We're gonna get 18-20 inches?

I'm going to be so pissed if thats true, big snow is a bitch at my work and my car doesn't even ride that high =\

And here's Ollie with the weather, Ollie?
I read last night on cbs, "amounts in excess of 18 inches".
In excess of, damn.

I have a huge snowblower, my neighbor put a blower on the front of his riding lawnmower and does my driveway and my other neighbor has a truck with a plow. Shoveling wise I'm not worried, but driving will have the sucks.
I'm hoping it misses us up here in Toronto

I'm literally a month to a month and 1/2 away from buying a truck too. Right now I'm driving my junker Integra, its going to be absolutely hilarious driving it to work on wednesday/thursday I'm sure. And I'll have to fulfill my obligation to head over to my grandparents and shovel out their driveway. They have an electric snowblower that sounds like a vacuum (works great for 5 inches of less!)
Haha I love Chicago.

On NBCChicago's website, theres a front page story about the blizzard coming. On the right theres a poll.

I'll just list the current results

48% are Thrilled
17% Laughing
13% Furious
8% Bored
8% Sad
6% Intrigued

And the article reads
The National Weather Service warns that roads are expected to become snowpacked and slick Tuesday afternoon. By Wednesday, travel will become hazardous and, at times, dangerous.

Wtf is the difference between hazardous and dangerous? Cigarettes are hazardous to my health, but they're not dangerous?

I'm bored at work, let me have my Aria moment.

i lived in chicago for 3-4 months in....199...1995? I think? summer months. we lived in Ann Arbor Mi, and on more than one ocassion we drove to Chicago to have dinner, disco then drive back at 4-5 AM....other times, we drove for the day, days before having kids.

fave cities: Boston, Chicago, San Fran.

I suspect some Colorado cities would be on my list, but I havent been.

Aria moment? wthell is that? your post made sense, so you failed. what's an aria moment then?

You're right, it made much too sense to be an Aria moment, my randomness isn't quite at the same Randomity Level as yours yet.

But I'll get there.

I'm in the last color zone, whatever shade of red that is.
All we got is ice, although I did get this email this morning from my professor at 5am.

hi students,

this message is for those students in the sections of b.f. 510 that meet on tuesday, february 1st... class is cancelled due to weather... your prof tried to go for a walk at 4:30 a.m. and nearly fell on his ass... even the dog thought the idea was all wrong!... needless to say, no one needs to risk their life or the lives of others trying to get to class...

yours in safety,

blacki

p.s. as of this time, there was nothing on the osu website indicating that the campus was closed, nor on the columbus dispatch website, and even the franklin county sheriff's dept. website had not declared a level three snow emergency... what are these folks doing?... so you might need to check with those sources later or check with your other profs about whether your other classes are going to be held...

Blacki?

That's a racial slur, that is! Ban Ban BAN!

Questor!!
white out conditions are upon us. It looks pretty damn bad outside right now.

Should be interesting. My work is about 1-3 miles from lake michigan, and we've had the lake effect snow falling all day. I'll prolly get about 1.5-2 ft at home, 2.5 to 3ft at work. Fuckin fun times. The winds are going to be the worst part of it for anybody travelling when this storm really hits.

edit: FUCK, i think the wind is blowing directly on the large window side of my apartment (living room windows). I can hear them creaking like crazy everytime the wind picks up. I wouldn't be surprised to have them blow out if this wind gets any worse than it is =\

Good luck because Port Huron is projected for upwards of 20 inches (with NE winds off Lake Huron, yay for lake effect snow on top of everything else)...unless Lake Huron or Erie suck up the moisture, you're in for it too!
Just went to GNC about 10 miles down the road, visibility was about 500 ft at best, freshly plowed parking lots have 2 inches of snow 20 minutes after plowing due to all the blowing snow, its RIDICULOUS.

I'm now home for good (thank god for the gym at our apartment complex), and kinda excited to see how bad this things gonna get. Every hour that passes I hear more news about predictions worsening, Illinois actived the national guard and Govenor quinn declared a state of emergency i believe.
I got about 14 or so inches. Pretty crazy night.
This is nuts! The snow really needs to go away. :
I knew back in October and November when we had weather in the 60's and 70's, we were going to pay for it later.... And we are.

really? what could you possibly need so badly that you would drive 20 miles to GNC and back in the middle of a blizzard?
It was the very beginning of the blizzard, and I needed some protein =) I'm a hardgainer with skinny-guy genes like Kit/November, so I'm started a new workout along with protein and creatine and 5 days in the gym, 3000 calorie diet (still trying to work on actually eating that much everyday, moneys tight so that doesnt help). When I went out, it wasn't snowing all that hard (it really wasn't snowing hard all the way up till 12:30am when I passed out tuesday night), but the wind was insane! Lots of blowing snow, poor visibility.

However I live near the Fox Lake area where traffic was very sparse and the roads were easy to navigate. If I lived in the city I would've never gone out in the blizzard.

/end life story rant.

oh and its about a 14 minute round trip, 40 mph half, 60mph other hald, so i'd say it was a bit under 10 miles one way.

got 13 inches right now, not supposed to stop until this afternoon.. the 15 from last week melted down to 5-6 before this.. This is stupid.
