My name is Conor O'Sullivan and I'm from Alabama and I hate most of you because you are hippies/socialists/neocons. I live in Huntsville and work somewhere where I do something.

Good day.

^ Lol.

I guess I will go. Even though most of you don't know me.

My real name is Jordan. I am 22 years old and live in Florida.

I am a junior++ at Florida Atlantic University where I just changed my major from English to Business Administration.

I live with my girlfriend in a cute one bedroom. I am far from clean, but far from a slob. She does all the cooking, and cleaning and I love the setup. I don't work, as every time I do find a job, I have a hard time balancing school, work, and gaming. So I drop the work part. I am supported by a trust fund I manage (with the help of my parents, lol). I drive American, so should you.

I enjoy CS:S mostly, but recently have fallen in love with Heroes Of Newerth. I play a solid 4-5 hours daily. In high school, I wrestled and was a star in drama. I have won superiors for Hamlet and A midsummers Night Dream. Look up "The Laramie Project". I did that too along with being a stepsister in Cinderella. :/

I am not the "best" person in the world. I have been grimy in my past and am currently on probation. But I feel as if my errors have really helped me to become who I am today. My family is very supportive and has helped me through some sticky situations where I really thought my life was over.

I TWL.

Here is your talent...maybe?

Lately, there have been numerous references to what we on the internet like to call "real life." Though many questions have been asked and many claims have been made, nobody seems to really get into some of the very basic details of their life. Here in this thread, I aim to inspire all of you by giving you an unflinching view into my real life. I doubt any will follow suit, but I think it would be interesting none-the-less.

First off, my real name is Tony. I am a 21 year-old male.

I am currently in my junior year at Indiana University, and am on track to graduate on time. I started my college career with stellar grades (3.7), but my grades have recently suffered due to my problems with staying motivated and some other personal issues. I am double majoring in Communications and Culture and Telecommunications. I excel at logic and argumentation, though I rarely engage in arguments here due to their political nature.

I am diagnosed with depression, used to have panic attacks daily, and used to be an insomniac (and still have those nights occasionally). I still have the capacity to have good days, and I aim to never take them for granted.

I have a very loving and supporting family. I am fortunate that my parents are still happily married, and my older brother just recently joined the Navy OCS program. I am very proud of him. Outside of my immediately family however, I do not currently maintain any close relationships with family members. I regret this.

My hobbies include casual gaming with friends (I used to be hardcore about it, hence why I know of TWL) and music. I play guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, and am trying to learn harmonica. I write songs/play guitar for one band and play bass in another. Playing live is an amazing feeling, and not many people can say they have put themselves out there for judgement like I can. I am proud of this.

I am also a HUGE boxing fanatic. I have spent countless hours watching YouTube clips of boxers present and past analyzing their styles. I went to Las Vegas with my brother before he went into the Navy to see Pacquiao/Cotto live. We had the cheapest seats in the house, but the atmosphere was amazing. While I appreciate MMA fighters, the sport does not captivate me in the same way.

I have a blossoming drug problem. I am not addicted to any particular substance, but sobriety wears me out.

I am currently seeing a wonderful woman named Claudia. She is one of the most selfless people I have ever met, though sometimes she can be pretty high-maintenance. I fear that I may one day break her heart.

My greatest fears are the following:
1) The uncertainty of what my life will hold after I graduate. I do not feel in any way, shape, or form capable of handling being a real adult.
2) Disappointing my family.
3) That one day I might off myself (fairly unlikely, but I live in worry).

I am intensely loyal to my closest friends. I would give any of them a kidney and would gladly get my ass kicked for their sakes. Fortunately, they aren't the violent types, so I've yet to test this.

Well, there you have it. I hope some of you who spend too many hours arguing over who is better in real life man up and open up, though I'm sure some of you will probably just make fun of me. I am interested to see what a thread of this nature will turn into. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask, because I am unashamed of who I am.
get a blog, emo kid

Why not?

My name is Travis, I am 34 yrs old from British Columbia. I never went to college, as I became a sponsored skier straight out of high school. I was pro until I was 28, and by the time I was done, I was married, had a mortgage, and had no idea how to juggle school with paying for the bills. I also had no idea what I would take, as there was nothing I was really interested in.

I had been working in trades all my life, during the off season, and I was sick of being paid miserably for long hard hours, so I got into healthcare. A spent a few years working with young adults with developmental disabilities, but got sick of the bureaucracy involved. 3 years ago our daughter was born, and I realized that I needed to step things up a bit, so I went out on a limb, started up my own company, quit my job, and jumped in with both feet. So far, things have been going well, I have been in the black every year, a little more so every year.

My interests are still skiing, fishing (mainly fly fishing), camping, biking, paintball and gaming. I used to play enemy territory, and was probably 5 or 6 hours a night, but since our daughter was born I can only put in 2 nights a week in WoW, after she goes to bed. I also play a lot of guitar, I used to play in a band, and I really miss it, but I havent even jammed with anyone in 4 years.

Sometimes I look at my life and wonder where the time is going. There are still so many things I want to do, but being a procrastinator I always think, I'll do it some other day. And then 10 yrs has gone by, and I realize that if I blink a few more times I will be 70. Kinda makes me sad. Anyways, thats it in a nutshell.

What does a panic attack feel like?

Not being depressed or having any of those ailments myself, I am fairly skeptical or what constitutes depression and the like. Sometimes I think people are just pussified by our society today. Too many drugs, too easy to get.

A panic attack is a remnant from our more animalistic days. All it is is when your body goes into the "flight or fight" response in a setting where it doesn't make sense. The symptoms of a panic attack would be very helpful when you are being chased by a bear or in a fight, but not when you are sitting in a class room.

Thanks for everyone who contributed (even the haters)! Sadly, not one of the denizens who constantly brag about their real life/put others down for theirs have actually followed suit. Who would've thought...
I am game.

My name is Kevin, I am 450 yrs old and from Columbus Ohio. I went to the best college known to man, Ohio State. The education I received was better than that of Harvard or MIT. Many of my professors were liberal so in a lot of situations I was actually teaching the class because you can't trust a liberal to teach. That's probably why I have such a great understanding of everything, teaching people really forces you to know everything.

I have held a lot of jobs over my 450 year life. In fact now that I think about it I have had just about every job known to man. So if you ever need any advice just let me know I don't mind telling you about my experiences and how my jobs coincide with my knowledge of everything. Currently I am employed as an HR representative for a company that is so important it makes GE look like it sells peanuts to kids on a short bus. A lot people say that I am successful for the job that I do and I agree. I make so much money and am so important it is just hard being me sometimes.

I am not married but I have a hot girlfriend who isn’t make believe. Seriously. No really. To make up for not having a wife or a family of my own I have lots of friends. When I say a lot of friends I really mean I know everyone. Black friends? Check. Barge Captains? Check. Biologists? Check. Really the list could go on and on but I assure you that my friend pool is so large that a lesser person wouldn’t know what to do with all my contacts.

My interests are gaming, internet forum douchbaggery, hunting brown people, making Mexicans mow my lawn and making sure everyone knows how awesome I am.

This is fun who’s next?

having more knowledge or being more evolved doesnt automatically make anyone superior.

on the other hand, dont feel bad for knowing stuff and being more evolved and able to help people along here or there. what's yours is yours and that's that.

My real name is alex and I am a 17 year old male.

I attend a public boarding school for gifted children (read prison) called the Indiana Academy for Math Science and Humanities (on Ball State Campus) and I focus my studies on sciences and computer science. I hope to attend a top tier school for computer science like MIT CalTech or Carnegie Mellon.

I am an amateur game designer/coder and I work with a good friend of mine on mostly 2D games written primarily in Java. I play way too much TF2 (I play competitively as a medic).

Since I have moved away, I have drifted even further away from my father, which I sometimes regret because after my mother died, I am really all he has left.

I spend close to 18 hours a day on a computer of some sort and am quite good at operating, installing and maintaining computer systems of various complexity. I am the go too guy at 4am when a dorm mate's computer just crashed losing all of his essay. I get called to this about once a week.

I am utterly talentless in all other aspect of life, computers are my only tool.

I used to run track (very fast sprinter) and play soccer (very shitty lead striker) but I injured my knee irreparably so I have become lazy, sedentary and yes, fat.

I have a boyfriend named Sam and we are close considering we have only been seeing each other for about 2 months.

My dream is to one day work for a game design firm, particularly in artificial intelligence, or study AI (like real intelligence, not just game intellect).

I have a decent life, my past is long and painful, but that is behind me and I look forward to the future.

I gotta give ya props man. I think you're the 1st on these forums to admit they are gay.

I think we just have a difference of opinion (or personality), because I don't think I could believe those things and not think I was arrogant in believing that.
I'm 37 (38 in May, 2010)
I sell drugs for a living at a pharmacy that I own.
I have 3 kids, a wife, and a year remaining on my mortgage.
I live in New Jersey... about 30-40 min from Newark Airport (1.5 hours if there's traffic on the Turnpike)

edit:
Oh yeah... despite the handle on the board... I'm not Korean.... although I dated one.

It isn't.

It's really not that big of an issue. The only reason I haven't mentioned my own sexuality in these forums is because I just don't consider it to be all that important.

Also, having read things from the likes of certain people I won't name, it's not exactly the most inviting place to talk about your sexuality. The gaming community in general hasn't really shown itself to be a group of accepting people. But what the hell, I don't post that often anyhow, so yeah, I'm also gay.

I don't really want to go much further into detail about my life. I've never bragged about having a great life, and to be honest, it's been pretty mediocre. I'll leave it at that, cause it wouldn't really be interesting enough to read about, and I don't want to seem like I'm writing some sob story to get people to feel sorry for me. Not that I'm suggesting anyone else is, but I'm afraid my story would come off that way.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A DICK IN THIS THREAD THEN YOU WILL GET A 2 MONTH VACATION. I'm tired of watching people make bullshit comments or try to impersonate Snake as a way of commenting on what they don't like about him
I'll contribute, though I think I'm more open about my life than most people here. Still, there are things below that no one has heard yet.

I'm 42, and my name is Larry. FluffyTuff (a.k.a. Bill) is my brother and is 7 years younger than I.

I attended Clemson University in South Carolina, majoring first in Electrical Engineering and then switching to Computer Science in the first semester of my sophomore year because I scored a 40 on my statics midterm. It was then that I realized that I started as an EE because I thought that's what my father wanted rather than being a CS major because I was good at it.

And I was good at it. I started programming at age 13 on a TRS-80 Model I with 4K of RAM. I got my first internship at IBM during college because I wrote a Personal Information Manager for the TRS-80 Model III (16K RAM FTW!) and brought it with me to a career fair, which I attended as an afterthought because I passed by it on the way to my dorm room.

Honestly? I didn't want to go to college. I was disenfranchised with school because at the time I attended high school, South Carolina was ranked #49 in the US and our county was at the bottom of the state. In other words, I went to a really shitty high school. So I didn't study at all and was still graduated while ranked 3rd in a class of 200+. By the time college came around I was "over it." My father convinced me to try it for one semester assuring me that I could quit if I didn't like it.

With one semester left and at the end of my second, 7-month internship at IBM in Cary, NC I sent an email to Gennaro Cuomo (now just Jerry). He was the manager of a department that wrote an application I used frequently, so I wanted to be a part of the fun. Eventually, he hired me for my third, and final internship, at IBM's prestigious T. J. Watson Research Center.

I was very fortunate to be there. Because of that, I was hired immediately upon graduation in spite of a corporate hiring freeze instituted by then-CEO John Akers. (Those who are old enough may remember his "too many standing around the water cooler" commentary.)

While at IBM I gained a reputation for being a prolific coder, a subject matter expert on OS/2 development, and a loudmouth, opinionated kid. I publicly debated with Gordon Letwin (one of the first Microsoft employees), and generally raised a stink internally because of IBM's incompetence at marketing and selling what I thought was a phenomenal product (OS/2). I made enemies, especially with the Personal Systems Line of Business (PSLOB) lawyers who saw my public debates as a liability.

So in May 1992, they fired me on a technicality. I sent an internal memo to someone in the process of being hired by IBM to develop a cohesive marketing strategy, and he let his emotions get the best of him: he posted it on the Internet in the http://comp.os.os2.misc USENET discussion group. It made page 2 of PC Week (now e-Week).

During my career at IBM was that one of my applications also made page 2 on PC Week, albeit in a different edition. I also developed a few games, one of which was included with OS/2 2.0; and I drew the artwork on a very primitive drawing program that was used in the OS/2 2.0 easter egg.

When I was fired from IBM, someone from Australia wrote to John Akers begging him to reinstate me as an IBM employee. I thought this was funny because never in my wildest dreams as a young boy in Beaufort, SC would I have thought that someone in Australia would know who I was much less do this.

In the mid-90's I became an independent consultant for a 5 year stint at Morgan Stanley. Doing this would be catastrophic to my career because my peers would move into senior positions at their respective companies. (For example, my first manager Jerry is now the CTO of IBM's WebSphere division.) Yet, I did this because my wife at the time and I were trying to buy a house, so the 80% payraise over my previous job was a blessing.

Also in the mid-90's, I coauthored two books on OS/2 programming. This was an interesting experience since I was also the technical editor due to my extensive experience in this field. We made a few thousand dollars on the books, but in the end having my name on the cover was the only thing that made the effort worthwhile.

Finally, during this time, I published a magazine for nearly 4 years. Again geared toward OS/2 developers, it was read worldwide.

I met my first wife, Lisa, at a dance at St. Johns during my last internship. We dated for 3 years and married on Valentine's Day, 1993. Halfway into the marriage I knew I didn't want to be married anymore and we had a 2 week separation but in the end I didn't have the balls to follow through so we stayed married.

In 2000, after 4 miscarriages, my daughter Sara was born. She was a miracle to us! She displayed proficiencies at a very early age, and was quick to reach a number of milestones. And the effort to raise her distracted us from our marital issues.

Yet they came back to haunt us. On November 2, 2002 I told my wife I wasn't happy and wanted a divorce. I sat on the front steps of our 4 bedroom house crying like a child with the neighbors' kids playing in their yards and coming up to ask if I was alright.

It was then that Lisa realized that I was serious finally, and she reacted in desperation during the next few weeks to try and be the proper housewife that I had wished she were during the 12 years we were married.

I moved out in the first week of December, from my 2000 sq. ft. house into a 13' x 19' room in a house about 5 minutes away. I shared a bathroom with Kyle, the owners' 13 year old teenager. Because I took nothing with me financially, I lived paycheck to paycheck and was several thousand dollars in debt for the first 18 months after moving out.

I researched and filed the paperwork for divorce, giving Lisa a bit more than I was legally required to do, but figuring that peace in the relationship would be best for Sara. When the notice came back on October 20, 2003 that the divorce was final, it was anticlimactic. I guess that part of me always hoped that I would be one filing the papers with the County Clerk instead of the Family Court. That would have given me one last sanity check to be sure that I really wanted to do it. As it turned I had no choice in the matter.

I spent the next 4 years being the biggest manwhore I possibly could be. I dated 3, 4 and sometimes 5 women at one time. It didn't matter to me if they were dating anyone else or even married (in 2 instances). A part of my conscience wasn't proud of what I was doing, but having been frustrated in my first marriage for so long I really didn't give a shit.

In April 2006, the band I was in opened for Air Supply at the St. George Theater in Staten Island. Our female lead vocalist was a member of the Staten Island Arts Council, and it was she that secured this spot for us. Playing for 2,200 people is an experience that I will never again experience. I can't begin to describe how good it felt to execute almost flawlessly an 8 song set and have that many people screaming in response because they enjoyed listening.

I met Lauren on Adult Friend Finder in January 2007 while we were both dating someone else. She refused to let me meet her in spite of the fact that we spoke nightly on the phone for 6 months. After a particularly nasty weekend of fighting at the end of May, I washed my hands clean of her.

I met her finally on June 6 , and our relationship rushed quickly into engagement at the beginning of August. I knew her quite well - it's hard not to when you talk for an hour every night for 6 months - so I was confident in what I was doing. In retrospect, we both agree that we both should have taken things more slowly.

Lauren got pregnant in January 2008, with our wedding planned for April. I remember crying because I was distressed about our financial situation - we were bleeding money - and feared that I wouldn't be able to provide for our new child.

The wedding happened as planned. We married at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, with a wedding that cost about $50k for 35 people to attend. Thankfully her mother and step-father paid for it. Piper was born in October of that year, and has been a joy since then.

My involvement with Adult Friend Finder started because I received one of their spam emails after my divorce. Being the manwhore that I was I thought, "why not?" I was already getting laid from Lavalife, Craigslist, MySpace, and even Yahoo Pool. What's one other website?

There are more things that I could tell, but I'm sure I've said too much already.
