I have never gotten a flu shot in my life.
that video was posted on here the other day but with music
If you have a strong immune system you don't need a flu shot.

If you're old or have a weak immune system then you best get a flu shot.

It isn't complicated. Put away the tin foil hat and get a god damn girlfriend

Yeah irish posted this video but it had some rap music with it, made it better.
i wonder what she'd be like in bed

YOu know the funny part. When I was a military brat living overseas we got our shots every year and regularly got boosters of other stuff. I almost never got sick. Used to piss me off that other friends got out of school and I never did.

When I came back to the US I almost never got shots, got colds every year and even developed in issue with bronchitis.

so you got vaccines all the time when you were a kid and now you're constantly getting sick and are having issues with bronchitis? I'll let you make the logical conclusion here...

No genius. 10 years I lived overseas. I got a flu shot every year. I had the normal boosters of the other stuff the military gets and virtually NEVER got sick oversea. Neither did my parents or my sister. We move back to the US and because you are state side they don't do it anymore. After being in the US for a few years the other stuff develops. Do the math.

Do I think my kids need shots for everything under the sun? No, am I paranoid and think it will kill them? No. My youngest already had H1N1. He's fine not vaccine and obviously doesn't need it. None of us contracted it either, but we did all the stuff you are supposed to.

My personal opinion is that part of the reason things get so bad these days has more to do with Anti Bacteria gels and crap like that. If you read HOW you are supposed to use that stuff you'll see that the average person doesn't use it properly. As a result I can see it not killing soemthing and that micro getting stronger.

We didn't have that crap when I was a kid and we all managed to live to be adults. Teach your kids to wash their damn hands.

BB is surmising that your immune system was not allowed to properly develop, and once the aide was removed, it collapsed at every challenge it faced. So your immune system is weaker because it was not allowed to develop properly.

I believe it to be logical.

Yo, walk it out!
So why don't we hear about incidents like this more often if it was the vaccine?

Millions of people are vaccinated every year. The military vaccinates every Soldier, Marine, Sailor, and Airmen get vaccinated. Even the National Guard troops get vaccinated. That right there is like 3+ million people.

Some companies even require it.

hhmmmm...Allen...Vaccine Injury Compensation Program...federally funded to pay for care of people who suffered certified adverse reactions or to compensate those related to a person who died over a vaccine.

federally funded...tax dollars, to pay for injuries caused by a private product that is incomplete, not fully tested and thus not reliable enuff.

check out how much they have paid since they began operating...but that doesnt mean everyone that got hurt got money....no sireee...u apply for it, u forego all your litigation rights and put ur case in their hands for they and them only to be the ones to determine if you were hurt by said product.

the money man determines if and when u get the money...and u cant sue the pharmas...cannot sue them.

other than that i wasnt to thrilled with it.

and we are currently involved in a H1N1 discussion in the cesspool. for those that would like to see, that thread can be found here.

That program didn't start covering the flu vaccine until 2005.

It looks like you could take that program and use it to argue against public healthcare though.

Edit: From the looks of it, it seems like its pretty easy to get compensated too. You just have to exhibit the symptoms listed on a chart within X number of hours/days of receiving the vaccine.

So, you could argue that there are just as many people who have been falsely compensated as those who should have received compensation and did not.

I kind of agree with this. As kids, I remember we all used to lick the bowl Mom used to make cake batter in when she was done. OMG! Raw eggs!!!

We never came down with salmonella or any of that other shit. Now, you'd be arrested and hauled off to jail for letter your kids eat anything with raw eggs in it.

I wonder if we've all gotten too damned paranoid about stuff. We get shots for everything, seems every cleaning product on the shelves is antibacterial this or antibacterial that...

Next thing you know, there will be antibacterial toilet paper. You know, just in case bacteria might be crawling all up in your taint and bunghole!

It's rediculous! It's like we as a species have become so fearful of any kind of minor illness or imaginary bugs crawling around, that we seek a pill, a shot, or medicated hand lotion for everything.

I weep for the human race. WEEP, I TELL YOU!

You have to keep in perspective what you got shots for as well. I'm 40 years old. We didn't have the chicken pox shot. We ot immunities for it the old way. But what I'm saying is that as a whole I do not recall ever having the epidemics of shit that float around like they do here on base.
Yes because theres a direct correlation between the flu shot and a very rare neurological disorder thats had 5 cases in the last 18 years here in the US.

Dystonia is a rare disorder? Or getting it due to a vaccination?

I'm confused then, because I thought dystonia itself was quite common

no, if u had a chance to look up the process...no, u wouldnt even think of it as an easy process.

also, this has nothing to do with public health care.

this is a kitty fund (funded by tax dollars) that shields pharmas from lawsuits arising from damages caused by their products.

now, i want a deal like that, i make a product, and have the gvt watch my back, and pay any persons my product harms because it is not desgined well enough...poor design.

I THINK HACKSHOT IS A PARAMEDIC....and that's fine, not a problem.

the problems are knee jerk reactions...IF, IF he is a paramedic, then as a health care professional, he should exert extra care in that department.

check this out:

prevalence is between 3 and 7,320 per million people, difference being early vs late onset dystonia.

book on dystonia, free preview online, lets you see page 12 with prevalence data...reading page one give a good primer

body language.

I'll try to put it in words. All her movements are something that she could consciously do in a sustained way.

So I looked at some vids online of other sufferers for comparison.

She seems to have a lack of temor like movement. Faking a hand or body part shaking at high frequency is tiring and distracting if you do it consciously. But dystonia sufferers tended to do it or atleast have sharp jerky movements. Movements that undermine their stability while walking like they're fighting themselves or they have to compensate or react to the irregularity. She seems too fluid.

I guess its a question of looking at her motion could you do what she's doing consciously for a sustain period. I had to answer yes. Versus the videos of sufferers I looked over and, yeah, I could fake it but not consistently and not for long.
Post edited by Stryk at 10/23/2009 5:32:46 AM
thanks S, I understand, yes her movements can be faked by someone, like acting.

i, for lack of a better idea, believe she is not faking it.

i have seen dystonia first hand, and the kid didnt have tremors, he also was able to walk backwards sort of fine...and some days his extremity movements were more oscillating in nature than usual. the reason he would have jerky movements is due to his intended corrections in movements, it is basically a tug of war within and with his own body parts.

Yeah, I'm not sure she's faking. But I'm not ruling it out. There's just something too deliberate about her movements for me not to wonder.
