Tulsa here, we lost power Sunday and got it back Thursday. We only had about a inch of freezing rain, but that is a lot in reality when it is on trees and power lines.
For the idiots: Freezing rain is, it starts as sleet, then comes through a warm layer of air and melts, then comes back in to air that is below freezing. It stays as liquid until it comes in to contact with something (car, house, tree etc) and then freezes instantly as ice. We were lucky though and the ground was fairly warm so the roads never got slick except on bridges and such.
All I can say is, thank god for my parents having a generator installed when they built their new house. We just went over there and never missed a beat. A lot of people are not so lucky though, and my thoughts and prayers go out to those who are still without power. My thoughts and prayers do not go out to those who were so stupid as to bring a gasoline powered generator INSIDE their house, and ran it. I think they said we've had 23 deaths in Tulsa from various weather related causes. We also only had one gas station in town with power, and they ran out of fuel on Wednesday. All is almost back to normal now, but we have a snow storm coming tonight.
