I havent seen either of these movies and want to order one of them off demand.

Which one should I go with? Has anyone seen both or atleast one of the two ?
28 weeks later was pretty good but i thought it was a bit too short. If you liek zombie movies go with 28 weeks later.
They aren't zombies though.

I enjoyed the first one a bit just wondering if the 2nd lives up to the original.

I didn't think it did. Don't get me wrong, if you saw the first you should see the second because it IS good, but it wasn't as good as the original.
i thought 28 weeks later was a disappointment...

so disappointing, actually, that:

i went to rent it last week. i saw "2 day rental", so i thought it was a new release. so, i get home, pop it in, and start the show. as i'm watching it, i start to think "this looks familiar", which turns into "wait, i've seen this friggin movie".

so now i'm all pissed and tell my woman that blockbuster had to have put the stickers on an old release... i saw that shit like 6 months ago!

she goes and complains, and the poor shlep behind the counter tells her "he's confused... he saw 28 days later.. this one's new". at this point she comes home and laughs at me.

but i knew i saw it. so i start to think... and it dawns on me.

i saw it in the theater.

yes, the movie was so bad i actually blocked the fact that i spent 8 dollars on it out of my mind. if i hadn't rented it, i would have happily gone through life thinking i had never even seen it.
I read a synopsis of Bug. Not a picker upper movie. Not really a sci-fi horror film either. You might consider it a physiological horror film.

Go for 28 Weeks later, it will actually be bearable to watch, unlike Bug, I thought Bug was horrible...
Well I ended up ordering 28 weeks later. You guys are all right not even close to good as the original. I still enjoyed the movie though. I heard a third one will be coming in 2009 apparently.

I'm still gonna check out Bug though sooner or later.

28 weeks later if you have a brain. I thought it was a good movie.
28 weeks later is OKAY. The beginning was great, but I lost interest a little. "The chopper scene was the best". I still think 28 days is much better.
bug was boring as hell, go with 28 days later, at least theres some action.

He said if you like zombies. He didn't say they were zombies.
i liked 28 days later, 28 weeks later was a massive disappointment.

luckily i just spent a netflix rental on it, waste of time. only good thing about it was a few cool-looking scenes.

The right is more virtuous than the left. They have twice as many virtues because they have double the standards.

Black Sheep

I just watched this movie the other night and it was pretty damn funny. Granted there are some corny scenes, but over all its a pretty good movie.
Dawn of the Dead and Resident evil (the first one, the last two sucked) are my faves zombie movies. I am looking forward to I am Legend.

They ARE zombies... The one scene with the helicopter?

There were two zombies they showed... one was using its arms to crawl, the other one had a huge chunk taken out of it... and it was STILL WALKING!!!

That's not rage! That's zombies!

If your adrenaline is going and shit you can take quite a beating before you go down.

Also, I know Buzzed but they way he said it could've hinted that he thought it was a zombie flick.
I can't believe how many of your are saying 28 Weeks Later was only "ok".

The first one was great, but I think the second one is better, the first one got really weird when they got back to the house with all the horny soldiers... Second one kept more on track IMHO.

Plus I liked how basically no character was safe from dying in the second one, without giving too much away.

And the husband and wife scene is really raw.

Like Blade was half human/half vampire

28 Weeks was WAY BETTER then 28 days. 28 Days later had that stupid ending where the guy gets all crazy with 'natural rage' and kills all the soldiers. That whole soldier scene was completely stupid and ruined an otherwise good horror flick.

Despite that scene I still like 28 days better. The main guy was so hardcore in that movie.

In the 2nd one no one really stood out except that one sniper guy but he died in a gay way with only killing a few of them.

Remember that priest scene in the first one I think that was the best scene in the movie!

Nah when that one chick chopped up that other guy after that zombie ran through the glass. That was a great scene.
Don't get me wrong, I love 28 days later, I just felt the whole direction they took with the soldiers was dumb, the movie on a whole is excellent.

I still say 28 weeks later was a lot more focused, I liked the entire plot with the re-population of London, and I even thought they handled the reemergence of the rage virus fairly well, though slightly far fetched. I will agree with above though that no one person really stood out, I liked the Sniper character and I was shocked when he got toasted. Really drove home that no one was safe. 28 days later all the main characters survived for the most part except for the father.

I've seen HEATED debates about whether the 28 Days/Weeks infected are "zombies", while I won't call them zombies persay, the films are definitely "zombie movies".

And for the record the part in 28 weeks later where the husband kills the wife was easily one of the most raw and graphic scenes I've ever seen in a movie.

That scene was pretty damn crazy. I was sad soon as he got infected. I figured he would be the badass in this movie like he was in the beginning, but he got infected so early and it kinda disappointed me.
28 weeks later just felt like a stuttered mess.

what a sucky sequel.

I know I would never trust you in combat or when it counts. The bottom line is that you have no honor and you arent the "good person" you attempt to perpetrate on these forums with threads about "mom and dad" or your kids while you purposely fuck up threads about men who's lives are in the balance over accusations of murder and rape. The very men you just said you appreciate - yeah right. You're garbage aria. No class at all.

*** SPOILER ***

This is a remake of Omega Man. Although I suspect both movies diverge from the book, the "zombies" are really infected people. But they are not quite like 28 days where the virus effectively turn the people into George Romero style mindless violent zombies with the only exception that they could run fast. These infected become insane but not mindless.
