I just realized that Hebrew isn't that far off from Arabic.
A lot of basic Arabic words come from Hebrew. None of the words you heard in that clip are shared with Arabic however I don't think.
Its mostly curse words and simple words like We, you, mom, dad, everyone, that are shared between the languages. Specific nouns aren't shared unless they are modern nouns derived from the west such as Television, Radio, internet, etc.
Modern Hebrew is 90% Ancient Hebrew, 90% of the curse words in Hebrew are 100% Arabic (as there is no cursing words in the bible obviously) and the other 9 % is again modern words mostly from English
If you wake up next to an Israeli women in Tel-Aviv and she sees you getting dressed she may say "olahy atah rotezeh Quicky" "You down for a quicky". Quicky is used, OK has almost completely replaced the Hebrew version of OK which is beseder. Shit is a common Hebrew word now as is "fuck it"
Hebrew like Japanese now has at least one English word per sentence when people especially young people speak with one another.
The News Cast is very formal Hebrew. No shit or Arabic words.
Arabic sounds much prettier then Hebrew and is actually in my opinion one of the most beautiful langauges along with Italian and Japanese.
Hebrew has a lot of the Ch sound pronounced like in "Le Chaim" "To life" while Arabic is spoken more from the Gut in which the CH sound Hebrew uses is replaced with a gut proudced HA sounded.
Example of difference in a standard but identical greeting
Arabic "Salam alahkeim, Wahlekim Salam
That greeting comes from the 3,000 year old Jewish greeting of
"SHalom Alcechiem, Aleichem Shalom"
The same exact greeting.
Believe it or not Israelis use the term "Inshallah" in Arabic to say G-d willing.
Two Israelis could be chatting, "man I'm hoping to hook up with that girl tonight" his friend will reply "Inshallah"'
Are there any linguists here on TWL? I wonder what you're thoughts are on the Arabic Language, its really a beautiful langauge.
The Standard Arabic that is taught in schools Internationally is Egyptian Arabic, but the truest form of original Arabic comes from the Southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula like in nations from Yemen. Linguists in Israel have determined that the Hebrew spoken by Yemenite Jews in Israel while is word for word the same as all hebrew is actually prounounced the exact same way it was over 3,000 years ago.
