Fat people on airplanes who sit coach

Ever had a guy so fat sit next to you that you can't put the seat divider down without cutting into his belly? I think people should be offered reduced rates to sit next to super fat guys. Its really unfair with what we have to pay for airfare for that tiny cramped inhumane space to have that further impeded on by Jabba sitting next to you to the piont where you silently grind your teeth in anger the whole flight.

In super health conscious Los Angeles you don't see too many fat people other then usually Latina women at the bus stop (who are very rarely skinny) but when I go on a flight and have to have his fat toucing me because I can't put the divider down I think that is rude of the airline to allow that.

There is a pay for 2 seat policy that airlines can enact but they never do.
I actually have had the pleasure of thin, good smelling people sitting next to me. They didn't even talk to me either!!

Hows about growing a pair and simply asking to sit in a different seat.

From my understanding over 50% of American are overweight. That makes you the minority.
I had a fat woman who rested her head on my shoulder for like 6 hours of my flight to Madrid. I was so pissed, and she kept doing it.

I don't sleep on flights generally...or more rather I can't sleep very well on them. I have trouble sleeping in my own bed let alone in a plane. Didn't even sleep a wink on a 13 hour flight from Munich to Atlanta. I usually spend about $40 on magazines and read those while listening to my iPod or watch a dvd on the plane. I also kind of enjoy when people talk, it helps pass the time.

CrazyTex your experiences are skewed probably because Texas is the fattest state in the US. Leave Texas and you see a lot of thinner people.

Not fat but my flight (Sydney to LA) involved a very smelly female French backpacker

Personally, I'd rather sit next to an overweight person.

Not obese Tex. I'm not talking about 30-40 lbs over weight I'm talking about I can't put the fucking seat divider down!

I'd would tell her to get her fucking head off me. I also will have something to say to a person who wakes me up in my aisle seat because he has to go to the bathroom. I hate the people who have to walk around the whole airplane 70 fucking times! Just sit down and occupy yourself without distubring others, please!

When I fly to Europe or Israel I try to get in a sleep mode which consists of me half asleep for about 6-8 hours. I wake up and go to sleep and G-d help the stewardess who dares wakes me up to ask me if I want chicken or fish.

Please refer to the first point of simply asking to sit in a different seat. If you are not willing to make an attempt to handle the situation as it occurs then why are you allowing yourself to become upset?

Does it suck to sit next to a hippo? No doubt.

Is it your fault if you end up doing so because you couldn't stand up and say i payed for the whole seat and not 75% of it? Absolutely!

I do realize I'm offering an obvious solution to the problem instead of just sitting here and listening to you complain but i just think that people these days spend to much time bitching and not enough time getting off there ass and doing anything about the situation. With that said I'm not even going to say that i have not held my tongue in the same situation... but i didnt go crying about it later either.

I do! Sorry I should have mentioned that, I'm the complaining guy on the flight who pulls the whole "get my luggage off I'm not flying if thats the case" guy.

Federal Law, Luggage can't fly without its owner!
I always have hot chicks sitting next to me on airplanes. I must be a chick magnet.

Mississippi is the fatest state. Also your assumption that i have never left the state would be incorrect as well.

Well Texas was for the longest time, please excuse me for not keeping up on the depressing statistics

I wasn't assuming you hadn't left Texas, I was saying when you do leave you notice a reduction in the prevalence.

I vacation frequently. I have not noticed the reduction that you have mentioned. This of course may fall back on my original post which states the fact that most people are overweight no matter where you go. Some places however might just be more or less overweight then others... but still overweight. Either way... thats not what this thread is about.

Apparently based on this thread airplanes is a popular place for large people to hang out.

I have zero problems telling anyone to tuck their fat in during that encounter. After all, they paid for their seat, not theirs and mine.

For real? Then I'd suggest you don't get an aisle seat because that's kind of silly.

Aisle seats suck IMO unless getting off the plane 5 seconds quicker is that important.

I remember Texas being the fattest state forever dont know about now.
Last time I flew I had my laptop with me and I was watching Freddy vs Jason on it with headphones.

I was all by myself (plane was not full by any means) and the lady in front of me with 2 kids told one of them to sit with me so they would have room. The kid must have said something because the mother turned to me and didnt ask, but told me to turn that crap off because her son shouldnt be watching it.

I told her to send her kid to another seat because I am not turning it off. She got soooooo pissed cause the only other empty seats were a few rows back and apparenly too far away for her. She complained to the flight sttendant but they told her I can do anything on my laptop I want as long as it wasnt loud or xxx rated.

I love it when people resist people being assholes for no reason. The flight attendant telling her to go to hell was just icing on the cake.

Yeah, Airports really love it when you get all aggressive and argumenatative on a plane. Airport security will go out of their way to show you their appreciation.

Where did I say anything about being aggressive? I simply implied to ask for a different seat. I think that could be done politely.

There is a pay for 2 seat policy that airlines can enact but they never do.

Can it be enforced after the ticket is already purchased? I'm just curious because I've never had to inform them of my weight when buying tickets online.

What do you do when there isn't another seat.

And I've also seen flight attendants refuse to reseat people.

Wear a fat suite next time you check in and see if the attendant says anything to ya about seating.

So I'm curious...regardless of if there are other seats available, etc...do you think it's fair for a very fat person to basically spill over into the other seats?

There are people out there who are so rediculously fat they'd basically occupy two seats. Do you think it would be fair if they only paid for one?

I'm curious if you're opposed to very fat people having to pay for two seats, or if you think it's okay that they flood the adjoining seats with their fat and it's their seatmates' problems to either deal with it or find another seat? And what if other seats aren't available?
The point of the thread, skinny people have rights too! We have feelings and sitting on us hurts those feelings.

I know I would never trust you in combat or when it counts. The bottom line is that you have no honor and you arent the "good person" you attempt to perpetrate on these forums with threads about "mom and dad" or your kids while you purposely fuck up threads about men who's lives are in the balance over accusations of murder and rape. The very men you just said you appreciate - yeah right. You're garbage aria. No class at all.
