Pa. hunter's images stir Bigfoot debate Sun Oct 28, 3:16 PM ET

RIDGWAY, Pa. - It's furry and walks on all fours. Beyond that, about the only thing certain about the critter photographed by a hunter's camera is that some people have gotten the notion it could be a Sasquatch, or bigfoot. Others say it's just a bear with a bad skin infection.

Rick Jacobs says he got the pictures from a camera with an automatic trigger that he fastened to a tree in the Allegheny National Forest, about 115 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, hoping to photograph deer.

"We couldn't figure out what they were," Jacobs said of the images captured on Sept. 16. "I've been hunting for years and I've never seen anything like this."

He contacted the Bigfoot Research Organization, which pursues reports of a legendary two-legged creature that some people believe lives in parts of the U.S. and Canada.

"It appears to be a primate-like animal. In my opinion, it appears to be a juvenile Sasquatch," said Paul Majeta of the bigfoot group.

However, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has a more conventional opinion. Agency spokesman Jerry Feaser said conservation officers routinely trap bears to be tagged and often see animals that look like the photos.

"There is no question it is a bear with a severe case of mange," Feaser told The Bradford Era.

And possibly rabies, thats how coons walk when they're fucked up in the head.
Dude was seen near Pittsburgh

It's the Pirate's fan.
Looks like a big chimp. Not a bear as well. Could it be an primate that escaped from a zoo?
I used to backpack all over the dam place up till about a year-2 years ago. All I know is I would be freaking out if I ran into that at night in the middle of nowwhere.
That's not Bigfoot. I know because he lives with me, and gets into my shaving cream and stuff.

Actually...all kinds of porn outlets do it, outdoor remote cameras are big business when filming the beaver in its natural enviroment. You sometimes even see a trouser snake or two.

Yes, because being exponentially smarter than the animals isn't enough. They always knew there had to be an easier way to kill them.

yea, they hook em up to motion sensors and it automatically takes a picture when something big enough to trigger the sensor walks by it, day or night.

I agree, but it's cool to use it for other purposes. For example, a guy has been trying to convince people he has a cougar on his property and no one in the DNR will believe him. So he put out a camera and tada, a pic of the Cougar! I don't know why but in MN the DNR keeps saying "There aren't any cougars in the area" but then someone will always come up with a pic or video of one in their backyard. lol
Only reason I said it is because I know personally of a douchebag who sets up a bait pile and a camera 50 yards behind his cottage up north, the sets up a monitor in the cottage and plays video games until a deer shows up.

He has mad hunting skills... Sad thing is, I know more people like him than not....

I agree. Looks again more like chimp
It's the Pirates fan... I'm telling you! He's coming out of hiding now that the season is over.
The back legs look very "humanoid" like a monkey, a man or..... something in between??

Umm.. 90% of hunters use "trail cams" now a days to see where the hot spot is on their property. Also The cam has a clock so you can tell what time the deer are hitting your spot. Actually I just checked mine last weekend.
Ok, so what kind of state/fed trouble would one get into if one actualy bagged a "bigfoot" type creature, barring it being some asshole in a monkey suit and pending murder charges? What kind of money would be made? I'm thinking 12ga with sabots or a .308 or larger would do the job.

a trusty .44 magnum should do the job. or a .30-06 if you want a longer range.

idk about 90%, but yeah, hunters use them. its so they can see where the game are moving about on their hunting grounds and when so that when they go hunting theyll have an idea of where to be when.

we've considered getting those, but we havent.

Can you use rifles to hunt in PA? Many states are shotguns only because all the dam breeding has put humans all over the dam place
First off, it's illegal to hunt deer at night. Secondly, any hunter that uses camera's is a fucking pussy. How about mounting pheramone activated laser guns to the deers head and even the score a bit, huh?

He's right. Hell I saw a Coon with Mange the other day. The thing's legs were 4 feet long!

Same thing in Iowa. My hometown is about an hour or two from Minnesota. The DNR always says they aren't in Iowa even when people hit one and show them the carcass. I've seen one myself even.

I think at one point the DNR did finally fess up to releasing a few somewhere in Iowa to control our crazy deer populations, which is ok I suppose, until someone gets attacked. The deer are horrible, in the fall I've seen entire fields filled with them, probably 100 or more within sight.

Same thing in CT, saw a pic of a cougar taking down a full grown deer in someone's back yard.

That would have been cool to see. If given the chance I'd bag a cougar for sure. Due to the legal non-status, anyone with a hunting license can shoot a cougar or bear in Iowa. I've never seen a bear though, but there are a few around.

That would look good mounted in the house. Along with one of the Bald Eagles I see all the time.
