WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Supreme Court Monday agreed to decide whether affirmative action programs in the nation's universities should continue to help minorities, or whether they represent "reverse discrimination."

this should be a good topic to discuss.
We really do live in a horrible racist world don't we?
well, there is no question that AA is racism. it needs to go. it has fueled racism instead of helped get rid of it.
Instead of ignoring race, we encourage looking at it and reward those who have non-white skin tones. And this "reverse" discrimination crap. Unless I missed something in the definition of discrimination, it doesn't say making a decision based on an attribute unless of course their skin is white. If it does, than the definition of discrimination discriminates. Race is such a can of worms for some reason. I swear, if everyone just smoked a joint and had a cup of coffee everyday, there wouldn't be war.
You see, Hex is still young, and hasn't yet learned that all white males are racist bigots, and we should give all our money to anyone who isn't white and male for generations-past real or perceived wrongdoings. Furthermore, we should do so with a smile, lest we be persecuted for hate crimes.

Silly Hex!

and the sons' sons and the sons' sons' sons' sons.
I think American History X had some good points in it that address racism from both sides of the spectrum.

Interesting link about affirmative action: http://www.socialpsychology.org/affirm.htm

I do not know enough about it to make an informed judgement. The media does a spectacularly bad job of explaining what affirmative action acutally is.
