it was only a matter of time: the cause of the Sniper in D.C. is video and computer games.

i was watching Fox News channel around 1:30 PM. a lady cma on saying that they think he must have learned his skills using computer games. and that the clues he left behind were directly related to "games". example: the tarrot card he left behind was a picture that represent him as either God or as a god. they have directly linked this to what is known as "god mode". we all know what it means. they think it means when u r "on a roll" (i guess doing well in a game like...."killing spree" in UT2K3). i thought it was a cheat to enable u to be invincible or something. well as i sad it was only a matter of time. personally i think it the persons fault for not being able to determine reality form fiction. what do u think. (crazy snipers need not apply)

yeah... too many threads on this one... anyhow, the lady is on crack. Anyone here who hunts or goes to a firing range can tell you there's a huge difference in clicking a mouse and firing a weapon. It's like saying you're a golf pro because you play MS Golf online.

I esp. like the reference to the tarot card that was found that had "I am god" written on it and the allusion that it refers to "godmode" of many popular games (it's in the second link, the video clip).

What scares me is people actually believe this shit. Anyone who has any common sense to segment the difference between clicking a mouse and pulling a trigger will note that the likelyhood this is some 'gamer' doing this is absurd. Not to mention the fact that you must actually know how to hold the weapon appropriately, aim, and be weary of kickback, windage and other things. Things that are not simulated in video games.

And for that woman to go on tv and say these things, when NO one outside law enforcement really knows what's going on (and I got a feeling they're having just as much trouble)... then you can speculate all you want... but you're just blowing smoke up your own ass until there's a capture and admission of guilt and or they 'frag' his ass while he's playing CS.

Computer Games don't make you insane, it's just that some insane people happen to play them.

Also, the "I am God" thing is used in some new-age religions. Could have come from that.
