"I think it was the right decision to disarm Saddam Hussein, and when the President made the decision, I supported him, and I support the fact that we did disarm him." -- John Kerry, Democratic Primary Debate, 5/03/03
Im one of those 72%. I dont know anyone in my unit that is even thinking about voting for Kerry.
Yes, I do care about what the troops want. If they want to support Bush, that's their choice. I do not support Bush's war without end, and I will not support because a certain group of people do.

I have the utmost respect for the members of our armed forces, but, my vote stands for David Cobb, the only canidate with a plan to actually get our troops out of Iraq.

Do you care what the Iraqi people want?

"A U.S.-sponsored poll shows Iraqis have lost confidence in the occupying authorities—and that the majority of Iraqis want Coalition troops out of the country."

The difference is that these people are the ones fighting in Iraq. That might tell you something.
Um.. you're right. The troops will vote for Bush so everyone else should.

Who? The U.S. troops or Iraqi's?

Sometimes two people can be in the same situation and hold two totally different views on what is going on.

is david cobb superman?
This just in :The vast majority of the Werhmact troops support their leader's decision.

Oh, sorry...wrong war, wrong time.

And whats even more telling is these are the very men and women in harms way daily. They understand what this is about. They know this isnt some small front just against Osama. Its about making change in a region that desparately needs it.

is nobody else reading into the fact that even those charts show that 25% dont want him back? I wonder how much of that 25% are the people actually in harms way, not giving out socks to the FNG's in kuwait. They're supposed to love him blindly 100% just like i did, yet 1/4 dont.

Your question in the thread title is about as poorly made as they come...ill give another example, numbers slightly off.

95% of african americans will vote for kerry. Do you care about african americans?

60% of ohio will will vote for kerry. Do you care about people in ohio?

See what im saying?
Soldiers feel a need to support the president. They simply don't want to appear disloyal. This is why most soldiers who have spoken out against this administration have done it on the condition of anonymity.

first off you are wrong. Bush will win Ohio! And your figure on african americans is skewed. Blacks in Urban areas who rely on social programs will vote for kerry. But there is a growing segment of black business owners and professionals who will vote for Bush. Those who want handouts will always vote for a president who believes in socialism.

whats Ohio?

From a republicans website with sources from the Army times. Wasn't it Bush that screened all the people who came to each thanksgiving dinner with him in Iraq?

Give me a break. Atleast I know the majority of national guard from my area are voting kerry.

it must be rather nice to have such a simple view of the world, so black and white. it seems you are implying if u do not support bush, u do not care about the troops. it's a nice way to make your point of view seem so righteous. but logically it is a farce.
Sure paints a good picture from the people who know more about fighting terror, etc.

I can see why the left is so pissed. It shows Kerry isnt respected like Bush
Vote Bush 2004!
Screw the UN(Corrupt and ineffective)
Protect the Enviroment(It's our home)
VOTE to stop ILLEGAL Immigration

what the heck r u talkin about. so inherently, because you are a private in the military, you know more about the politics and methods to fight an intricate global war on terror?

oky doky.
My bud in Italy with the 173rd is voting Bush.

the 173rd spent over a year in Iraq... and he's still a Bush kinda guy.

So you are now gonna try and argue that soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan have less info about whats going on over there than some putz in Hollywood or Massachussetts?

-they may know more about what is in their immediate physical location that someone stateside, but about geopolitics and things of that nature that come into play when picking a leader? being in the military does not equal inherently more knowledge about that.

i feel i do care about what the troops want, if that can be defined by: a more intelligent, methodical war on terror, while keeping america safe in the world and maintaining a strong position in a global alliance,

to help defend its borders at home, make america prosper at home, and to help keep them as safe as possible by being more thorough in how the military is led to fight this war on terror,

and taking some of the burden off american troops through stronger alliances, both with other troops on the ground, and also with stronger co-operation with intelligence agencies, stopping terror before it happens without having to resort to full-scale ground warfare.

then yeah, i care a lot about what the troops want.
What country did you think specifically that would take the burden off the US troops..France? Germany? who?

What was your point with this phierce? That military folks are on the whole conservative? Be still my heart!

WAIT!!!

If military folks are mostly conservative... how can they be mostly minority?!?!?!?

(oh wait, that's a different thread )

Okay, go back to your discussion....

Whats the rest of the data look like pheirce? sample size? margin of error?

Also to add:

What were the percentage of each grade polled? (i.e E-1 to E-9 and O-1 to 0-10)
Also what was the ratio of male to females polled?
