A Fallen Hero |-McAu-|ArtyGunny KIA in Iraq

Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2004-10-12 · 41 posts
From what I understand Artys vehicle hit a roadside bomb and he was killed when his vehicle flipped over and landed on top of him. As far as date time ect ect I dont have those specifics as of yet.

Arty (Edward) leaves behind a wife and a brand new baby. If anyone has a flag in front of their house it would be appreciated if it is brought down to half mass for a week.

We will be accepting Donations for Artys wife and baby that were survived by him. Donations can be sent via paypal to divinchii@cox.net or email me at that address if you would like to send a donation via snail mail. All donations to this account will go to Artys wife directly and in full.

Everyone at the Marine Corps Assault Unit prays for the families of the troops who have died and are still fighting for not just America but the rights of the human race to Live Free.

Div left me this message in a pm. He and I are friends of a few years now.

Words can not express what I am feeling right now. I did not know ArtyGunny on a personal level. I appreciate the sacrifice he made and I feel the loss.

My thoughts, prayers and best wishes go to his family.

My prayers and condolances to his family. He died a hero.

He has sacrificed his life for many more. He has bravly defended freedom and liberty. He shall be honered as should others who gave their lives to defend freedom from those who would take it away from us. Let us all pray for his wife and child. This world is a tough enough one without the loss of a loved one. He has died a hero.

Dont know arty but I can tell you this, because of people like Arty we all can sit and play games of war instead of be in the war. For that I will be eternally greatfull for Arty and all the other service men and women who put their life on the line 24/7. God Bless
Sorry to hear another brave soldier fallen, i will talk to my clans leader see if i can get a donation drive started.

This post really has no place with these others, this is to honor a fallen soldier not slam the commander of our armed services. How do you know that he was not a Bush supporter.
rest, my brother. May your family be proud.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." -- Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC

God Bless ArtyGunny... he has made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our corps. Semper Fi my brother.

Quote from A. Lincoln

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

souljourner, thx for that link, I'll make sure to post it in our forums. And thanks to everyone for their support & condolences here--it means a lot to all of us who knew Arty.

There's death in life. We all know it from when we are young. We accept it, and breath the knowledge of it. It's there, and never goes away. Arty met his time in a sad place, at a very sad time. My thoughts go out to his newborn child, and his wife. I wish him the best of luck wherever he may be now.
