ALL 4v4 League Teams

Since 98% of the teams failed to correctly report their scores we are going to throw out the entire week. We will call this preseason and add an extra week on the backside.

Clearly we have failed at explaining how to report a match. At the END of the round you will see the scoreboard and on that scoreboard you will see whether your team WON or LOST that round. Write that down, its going to be important later. A match consists of 4 rounds where teams will battle for a total of 8 mcoms.

Rules are already in place as to how to handle a tie, should one happen to arise.

To properly report a match you MUST report BOTH rounds won and MCOMS destroyed. This is the last word on this, we will not chase you for scores. If your match is reported incorrectly BOTH teams will receive 0 points. Scores are to be posted in MATCH COMS only, DO NOT use the report match button.

Post scores in match coms like this:
Team A > Team B
Team A wins (x)rounds; destroys (y) mcoms
Team B wins (x)rounds; destroys (y) mcoms
why should the teams that reported it the correct way suffer, especially those that won their match?
I hope this is a joke.
because fuck the 2%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok,, both means two,, and above you said there are 4 rounds.
I believe you could use the term there are 4 matches or games. Ie,, 2 matches or games per round .

There Deadeye....I built a comma and installed it after the word "both". Lemme know if that helped. = )
well arent you just mr. helper.

it makes more sense now. I never took you for a grammer savant.
You're kidding right? Is the standard now going to be that when you report a match loss, just fuck up the score and hope that enough losers rage-post an incorrect score, and therefore get the entire week thrown out?

Cmon, TWL. Whose decision was to just throw out an entire week? Was it really impossible to tell who won each match?

bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

good one dude.
Been playing in twl for over 10 years now.. and i must say the new breed of admins here lack a great many thing's the oldschool admin's had.

Now don't get me wrong we appreciate that admins donate there own free time to do what they can, but call's like these are why other league's think twl is a joke and why better teams just sandbag here.

Yall need to go back in time and take note's from the old RTCW admin's who actually knew how to run a league.

No disrespect to the admin's but u guy's dont get paid to do this, u do this to make the community happy, and guess what, im pretty sure what community there is here atm in bf:3 4v4 think u guy's just hopped onto the failure train...

gj punishing the teams who put in a ton of scrim hours to make it not count. fair adminship at it's best....
this entire thread is fucking priceless. ::thumbsup::

If you have nothing good to add to this thread and are just here to troll, please keep to yourself... You are not helping.
I am glad to see all the passion you players have for the game. It is understandable that you are upset.

We all want the same thing; a league that runs smoothly and on time. The biggest problem with season 1 was how scores were reported, which only led to other problems. Teams were complaining their scores were incorrect and teams were complaining TWL didnt get matches scheduled soon enough. All of these things take away from the overall quality of the league. This season things are going to be different, and hopefully better.

With ALL the teams reporting scores correctly TWL will be able to sort the scores quicker and more accurately. This means matches can be scheduled quicker so teams can get to scrims faster and also get into match comms faster. TWL would prefer that all matches be played by Thursday, and if matches arent scheduled until Tuesday night that puts an incredible strain on teams that need to reschedule. Having all teams reporting correctly and on time will improve the quality of the players experience and ease the load on TWL staff.

If your team gets its score reported incorrectly send an email to myself or sixshotsean. Please include screenshots to expediate the process. Teams that repeatedly report scores incorrectly will be removed from the league.

So in conclusion, becasue teams cannot read what you post in coms every week on how to score each round and report the match, then the people that did it correctly should suffer.

Also your basically saying that the rules posted here

http://www.teamwarfare.com/rules.asp?set=BF3%3A+NA+League+

In the official BF3 4v4 Squad Rush League Rules which states

"Scoring will be done as follows:

Win 4-0 = 15 points + MComs taken divided by 10 (example 4 mcoms taken = 15.4)
Win 3-1 = 13 points + MComs taken divided by 10 (example 2 + 1 = 13.3 or 2 + 0 = 13.2)
Win 2-2 in OT = 11 points + Mcoms taken divided by 10
Draw 2-2 still tied after 3 OT. = 9 points flat
Lose 2-2 in OT = 7 points + Mcoms taken divided by 10
Lose 3-1 = 5 points plus Mcoms taken divide by 10
Lose 0-4 = 3 points plus Mcoms taken divided by 10

No show Win = 10 points."

should be thrown out becasue once again teams/players don't know hot to read the rules.

I'm not trying to bash anyone here, I am simply representing my team and hopefully other community members with the same concerns.

It's plain and simple, the rules are clearly stated in the BF3 official rules section on top of you posting in match coms every week on how to score matches.

It's not my teams fault or other teams fault that play here and do things the right way that other teams/players do not know how to read the rules.

We should not get points/scores taken away from us for properly reporting this the right way.
fucking priceless ::thumbsup::
::opcorn:::
Damn trolls lmao it's only one game guys. Move on let the admins learn from their mistake. Like some people have pointed out they do volunteer be nice kyle
There are 40 teams playing in the 4v4 league, this means 20 matches played every week. Despite my best efforts to explain how to score and report a match only 3 matches were scored correctly.

A huge thanks to:
Team Axion & The Color Leet
Team LKG & Team MSG
Insight & International Mobilized

BEB was reported incorrectly, however they followed protocol and sent me an email to straighten it out. Well done sirs, thank you.

Teams that will be receiving ZERO points:
A Different Kind fL-Zebra - -fL
Team [R]equiem - [R]
xfactors Minions - xM
Comando Tático Brasileiro Oficial - =C.T.B=
elysiuM - eLyM
Roboter Konnen Lachen - [rcL]
Team Ascendancy - _ascend
Vantage - V
Body Stacking Tyrants - BST
Cryo9 - c9
S.P.Q.R , élite - *S.P.Q.R*

Copy and paste this into match comms to report your scores. DO NOT use the report match button! Also, UAC id's are in the "rants" url.

Team A > Team B
Team A wins (x)rounds; destroys (y) mcoms
Team B wins (x)rounds; destroys (y) mcoms
The tough part of a match is playing it and scheduling it and getting everyone together and on the same page.

It should not be the scoring system.

These teams played, won, you decide on a scoring system that they have no say in, and you're going to penalize them, even though they beat the other team, for not understanding your scoring system and website limitation. You're making teams pay for the design of the website by wiping their scores.

The only reason people play here is to play in matches. The match report, regardless of your scoring system, shouldn't be an acceptable reason to wipe a team's hard work and preparation away.

I don't know who thought it was a good idea... but it's not.

If a team reports wrong... it shouldn't be within your 'power' to decide to wipe that from the scoreboard. You should take the time to get it right.

This isn't rocket science. Well, I guess the scoring system is rocket science... but the logic behind why taking away wins isn't a good idea shouldn't be.

Most of the people that I know who play this game, are here to do just that. They don't want to spend time studying rules or reading forums. So if you don't have that one person on a team who can read...then you may run into this quite often.

I would suggest emailing the rule list to founders/captains, and don't expect them to come to forums to learn.

Just my 2 cents.
I fully expect EVERY team that comes to play in the league to understand and abide by the rules.
Of course you do.

Those who come to play, in turn, expect a scoring system that doesn't require a slide rule and a calculator.
I am not a League admin. But to put my two cents in.

Those who play do not need a slide rule and a calculator. You simply post the scores and the admin takes care of it. TWL admins are doing their best with the tools available. They have this very simple process posted on the forums in a sticky, in the rules, and they take the time to post it in each match.

So, no one can use the excuse that teams do not use the forums. Everyone uses match comms.

What a joke. What a joke.

This reminds me of the ban on M320's that was posted on the day that the ban took into full effect WITHOUT an email notification. The admin response was if you don't check the forums every day you shouldn't be playing in the league.

Instead of trying to act like hardasses maybe you could directly contact the people that actually have to report the scores so they can fix the problem? God forbid you tried to fix the problem. I'm sure 75% of the teams haven't even looked at the thread just based on the lack of response.

a website from THIS DECADE would probably help matters...
Not only have we emailed the teams stating to not use the scoring option in the past. Sean also sends emails like the below to all of the captains already signed up on the league.

Attn Teams:

The Battlefield 3: 4v4 League Season starts next week. Please review this post that outlines the rules, schedule and scoring guidelines. Located here:
http://teamwarfare.com/forums/showthread.asp?forumid=736&threadid=477300

4v4 Squad Rush League will play 4 rounds of the assigned map. Each team will attack and defend twice. This allows for a more fair and accurate scoring system.

League match results must be reported by each team into your match comms so admins can tabulate scores. DO NOT USE THE “REPORT MATCH BUTTON”.

Please contact BFNALeagues@teamwarfare.com with any questions or an admin on IRC in #twl_bf

Not very effective and TWL admins have enough to do on their free time to keep the league moving. Guys, understand your frustration but the admins do their best to get the matches scored and the bracket updated with a very short time frame for the next weeks match. Team who do not follow the rules make this job even more tedious.

If there are any other concerns, please send them via email bfnaleagues@teamwarfare.com or the CM.

I have to agree on several points which i will go over. But i also have to disagree with several points. I am not posting to take sides or cause any strife between TWL players/staff. I am merely trying to contribute some useful feedback of the environment that i see here.

Agree:
1. The forums and website have been a bit difficult to navigate to find the resources and information. (Search function for forums would be nice). I have seen several results of finding rules between the rules link, help link, and forums use.(very confusing, they should all link to one consolidated location, not have several postings)
2. Many of the directions/instructions have been confusing. Maybe needs to be worded differently or possibly have more images available for visual to correctly point out the instructions more clearly.
3. The match ID #'s were confusing initially. A comment about the location of this number should be added to the rules or founder/captain responsibilities page. Perhaps the web master can include the Match ID to actually be posted on the admin panel page/match comms page as well as have the ID in the URL.
4. Adding ID numbers to player profiles was surprisingly annoying. reason being: you have to enter the correct number into the field, and press your enter button NOT click the "add identifier" button. broken coding?

Disagree
1. Team founders and captains need to always be most informed of what is going on with TWL Especially what is going on within their participating teams leagues/ladders of competition.
2. If the founders and captains are unable to field the responsibilities of the tasks assigned by TWL, then they have no business participating. Think of your founders/captains just like managers of a job.
3. All team founders/captains are responsible for keeping track of the match results via screenshots. saving them for 2 weeks if i recall correctly (Another fine example of not being able to find where i got that information from due to poor website navigation)given this responsibility, Any of the past matches should still be able to be scored.
Our team reported correctly but what I don't understand is how an admin can not get all the information from a simple score like these below. If you know I am from Team Axion and giving you these scores you should be able to figure out pretty quickly all you need to know. Instead of making the entire community follow a new scoring system why not have the handful of admins learn that standard scoring system EVERYONE uses. I have not yet been confused when someone has told me the following....

2-1 first map
1-0 second map.

1-2 first map
0-2 second map

2-2 first map
1-0 second map

Also, throwing an entire week away because of bad reporting is not the fault of the community. It is the fault of the SYSTEM that allows you to do this. You have a button that says REPORT MATCH that your not allowed to use.... How confusing is this and you expect not only for people to not use that but you also want them to read through all this bullshit on the forums to figure out the correct way... Come on really, think. If this was a business you would all be fired.
I don't know why this is so hard guys the rules are always posted on both the forums AND the TWL rules section for BF3

http://teamwarfare.com/forums/showthread.asp?forumid=736&threadid=480096

This post answers just about every question.

Disregarding the rules here is just as stupid as not reading them. We created a rule set (before most other websites I believe) that accounted for a fair and balanced scoring system. All you as a team had to do was read it and play by it. That seems too hard for most.

The teams (like XSoldiers) that do read the rules and post correctly we greatly appreciate it.

Been doing this fine for over 20+ Seasons of Battlefield games. This way points are calculated fairly.

A post is made EVERY week in match comms, if you ONLY read that post you would have the information needed for the match posting guidelines.
SixShotSean
SixShot, We were 1 out of 3 of the teams who posted correctly.

"Been doing this fine for over 20+ Seasons of Battlefield games. This way points are calculated fairly.

After doing this for 1 season I would of identified this as a problem and figured out a solution that works. After the next season I would of found that my solution could be a little better and tweak it. BUT, After doing this for 20+ seasons and still having stupid problems like this.... What does that say? Oh I got an idea, lets just throw the whole week away until these people learn.

No, you fix these peoples errors and make it so there is no chance they can happen again. One thing is to get rid of the button that says REPORT LOSS. Give me 30 minutes on the backend of this site and i'll figure out a way to hide that button. Seriously.. your using original ASP, I programmed that shit 10 years ago.
What I mean is that we have been very successful with this system in the past. So I am unclear as to why these teams are having an issue.

Doesn't seem like I am the problem.

And recon continues to post like a moron, must be his tradition.
SixShotSean
lol recon may be posting like an idiot, but the the post is pretty funny

Wait, so let me get this straight.

1) We won
2) We were not responsible to report our win, BEB was.

Now admins are telling us, eventhough we did everything by the book, we lose our first match( that we won) and are stuck with one loss?

Thank you TWL.
Hopefully you come with an actual solution because people give time into this for practice and games. And because of other peoples mistake we are not getting what is rightfully ours.
Kwalc297 - Email me (SixShotSean@teamwarfare.com) and Juxtapuh@teamwarfare.com with the details. I am unclear as to what you mean.
