GUID Issue

Hey guys, I'm working on setting up my GUID but I'm having some issues and I did already read through the sticky/faq. Maybe I'm just dumb though? Hopefully not. I went to register my GUID by simply typing in my battlefield name which was the same method my teammate did and he was completely fine.

I tried navigating to my PB folder but was unable to find the appdata folder and cannot seem to navigate myself to a punkbuster folder? Little confused here. Teammate tried to follow the directions as well and had no success finding his folder even after some google searches. Any help finding my GUID would be great, thanks!

Tried following the ip address method and received the following message:

"Invalid GUID!
A GUID of 8 or 32 characters must be entered."

Method 3:

•Navigate to your pb folder
CUsers\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\BF3\pb

•Create a file called pbcl.cfg in the pb folder. To do this, simply open notepad, copy and paste this line: pb_logtofile 1

•Click on Save as on the open notepad screen. Save As pbcl.cfg and save it to the pb folder you navigated to above.

•Now, fire up your game and join a PB enabled server, stay long enough to spawn in, then exit the game completely.

•Go back to your CUsers\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\BF3\pb folder.

•In the pb folder you should see a pbcl.log file within it, open this with notepad, there should be a line starting with:
PB Server assigned guid =

• Copy the last 8 characters from that GUID (its 20 or so characters, you just need the last 8, they can be a combination of numbers and letters)

•Come here, run your pointer over your user name on the top left of the site. Account Maintenence\Profile.. click on Profile. The new screen that opens, click on Add another ID. Put in those 8 characters.

Done.

If you have a private server, hop in that and have your server admin run Procon and tell you the GUID.
If you are having trouble with method 3 as Fly posted, please note my post in the other forum:

How did you create the file? If you right-clicked and selected New -> Text Document, then typed pbcl.cfg as the new name, Windows will still put a .txt on the end of the name if you have extensions hidden.

In any windows explorer window, go to Organize and select Folder and Search Options. Click the View tab, and UNCHECK Hide Extensions for Known File Types. If the file is called "pbcl.cfg.txt" it will not work.

Please, please, please let me know if this is the issue. Lot's of people have been having this problem.
