what is the proper way to post a server

Now in this game you cant just /connect to get to a server. So my question is what is the proper way to post a server in mat6ch comms? I say using the url for the server. Not by putting a sig from pbbnas in the match comms and expecting me to go thru changes to find a server whan a normal person would have went the smart route. Now all u trolls eat it Im asking a real question If you have a real answer plz give it. If not go brush your teeth. thank you

-Server Choice
The server must comply with the Server Requirements section of the rules.

When the Attacking team chooses the date and confirms the match they must immediately post their server information in match comms. The Defending team then must choose and post which server they want to use 24 hours prior to the match. Failure to do so will result in them losing server choice and the match will be played on the Attacking teams Server.

If neither team can provide a server for the match, the appropriate Ladder Admin should immediately be contacted
Post the Battlelog link and password.
thats what i said this uy puts the pbbans sig and a password in match comms so ill wait till the day of match and let em know hes wrong and play on our clan server
In the rules, under match comms:

"-Exchanging Server IP and Password:
The IP and password of the server must be provided to each squad captain 24 hours before the match in match comms. It is recommended that both teams post an IP so that there is an alternate valid server available if needed. Please be sure to pay attention to the score in case of a difficulty on the server and need to change servers, it is important to prevent disputes. If neither team is able to provide as server then the ladder admin must be notified immediately in order to kill the match."

Can't join a BF3 server via IP address. Due to battlelog, it's via a URL.

May want to modify rules for BF3 Ladders specifically.

BUT WHAT u FAIL sry caps to understand is that this game is not an ip based game. battlelog uses url to connect I will be dammnde if I go thru changes to find a server when the leaders can just post the url. It doesnt matter if they use their match server as a pub when in match mod it is the same.
that is what I tryed to get U to see on mirc and that is why when i came back and lookex for a bf3 related admin I hung up on you cause i didnt belive you got it. no offense but ill email an admin that I know handles and plays BF#.

check out this thread. what im saying here is the language of the rules needs to be changed and I cant see why no one in TWl has seen it yet.

ESAW-Match-Server

Pasted to Google yielded this as the second link.

ESAW Match Server - Server Browser - Battlelog / Battlefield 3
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/servers/show/.../ESAW-Match-Server/

I think you are being a little extreme in your approach but yes, a full Battelelog URL is what most paste to match comms along with password.

I do agree requiring an IP is not as useful nor as popular as the full url with the current game.
Don't expect any admin wins though if enough data (ESAW-Match-Server) is posted so that anyone can find the server easily. Meanwhile, use common sense and we'll see about updating the rules.

Except, that doesn't work for all servers,... ie the one posted to us.

Also, I don't think Wreck's looking for admin wins or whatever, just a standard, which is in no way unreasonable.

Also, I have a feeling the opposing clan is being a little "unsportsmanlike" in their match coms and how they chose to post their server info.

It's pretty simple as far as I'm, concerned: Don't make people go searching for your server, post the direct link.

Common courtesy.

IMO:
because in all of our matches, there's only been one person that gives the IP only, ( sounds like the same guy )

everyone else gives the url, or name of server as Blues78 showed.

quit posting the same damn time as me Waysa.

Yeah, that's odd...lol
blue plz guy. google search what sense does that make. I could just goto match comms and copy and paste the url that a normal person SHOULD post and go right to the server and type in the password. Why would anyone in their right mind have to go thru all those changes to connect to a game. Im not gonna post of this subject anymore cause we are bording on what TWL calls admin disrespect when an admin posts something like that a i stat you much be out of your mind. Come on man. I assume we are both grown men or women. Im 48 and slightly crazy from 22 yrs a killing enemies of the stae. An ill be damnned if I do that to find a server. Im sure you guys have meeting all the time. Take point and rewrite the rulset cause its incorrect for this game. THe words IP souldnt even be in there anymore. It's all about url for BF3.

just like this:

Author: Wreckahoe - ( =ESAW= ) - Posted: 4/28/2012 4:20:50 PM
hey. plz follow the rules and post the URL to your server so we can cut out all the, oh god im not gonna search for a server when the rules state to put the url in match comms thing. ty

matchId=621839

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/#!/bf3/servers/show/aa1fa235-2bf1-4cdd-950c-03f97290d462/ESAW-Match-Server/

PW=damage

just like this it isnt hard and it is the rule

now the only thing wrong with that is the rules say IP and not url. They need to be changed so there is no wiggle room when posting a match server. for the love of christ.
and really what do you mean by using common sense? posting that it seems tyo me the ruleset should be changed? Why is it that when I post something it seems to me that some admins wanna go the 1950's route of doing things when it is more efficient to just post the url. Am I being that much of an arse by suggesting that? crazy person out. Happy gaming and remember The Princess Bride is one of the best movies ever made. figure that one out.

p/.s/. The whole reason for this post is that a team tryed to put us thru changes by posting a sig and a password. One of YOUR admins tells me you can do a google search (not U blue) to find the server. so I just left MIRC. why should anyone have to do that. POST THE URL and lets get to killing each other.
Thread closed. There is another thread open on this topic already.

Rules will be updated to post the URL which I thought was common sense for BF3.

Moving on....
