No Client-Side modifications are permitted. This includes customs skins, scopes, avatars, huds or any other modifications, including 3rd party programs that interact directly with the stock GAME files or OpenGL/Direct3D. The game is to be played stock out of the box with the current patches.

Insert Common Sense Here: Changes allowed in game Options are all fine. Third party programs that make those changes for you might get you flagged as cheating. The reason is, third party programs that interact with the stock game files can and often are manipulated to do things not originally intended.

UAC3 is constantly updated. New detections are added as they are discovered. UAC4 will be able to detect certain illegal macros/mouse binds. Until the DX11 issue is resolved, we are stuck on UAC3 BUT UAC3 is being updated with UAC4 features even now.

Conclusion: Options allowed by the game are fine if done in the game panel. Any changes outside of what all players can change in the options is a risk. Any third party program that can change game files may trigger a detection at any time.

The UAC forums are the best place to ask specific questions as to what will or will not trigger a UAC detection as they are in complete control of what is or is not detected.

Aside from the obvious Game Hack/Cheat events that trigger the strictest punishment, the AC Team uses common sense.
We take no pleasure in suspending players but we will keep the games clean and ensure the match arena remains as even as possible.

Not every UAC Cheat Flag will result in TWL disciplinary action. You might get flagged as cheating if your firewall blocks UAC, remove the block and UAC removes the cheat designation. Each detection is viewed on a case by case basis.

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-3-pc/1454576-another-configurator.html

you just run it, change a few sliders, and close the program. it writes your new config file and you are done. it doesnt run with the game.

guess ill give it a try and see... if its a problem ill re-install the game, i guess~

If it modifies anything that can't be changed from the control panel in game, it will pop on it.

Since you talk about how you can have things corrected if it detects something, if this happens during the match is the match forfeit regardless? Or is there a way for someone to prove without doubt what specifically they were running that made it detect something.
Yes, you can go to the UAC staff through their website and we are then notified. Matches are not automatically forfeited.

So if something is detected I assume you're notified then someone has so long to correct it before they forfeit the match?
Yes, we can go through detailed match reports that show what was triggered and when.

BUT you should have no issues if you are running the game stock minus changing your settings how you like them for controls and video.

But I like my gold plated gun skin, by invisible hub, and large font.
So TWL is going through all this BS to appease baddies that are getting raped by more baddies? Who still plays this game competitively?
there's money at stake

So, if we use an editor, like what was linked above (Realmware's Battlefield 3 Settings Editor), and it gets flagged as a cheat? Will the flag also list what was change in the settings?

Example, there is an option for example, there is an option to bind a key to the "Heavy Brake" for jets and also a fix for it in the settings editor.
If you use any third party program that changes the game files in an official match and get caught, you get either a suspension or a ban depending on the circumstances.

As to the information provided with a detection, that is and will remain the AC teams business for obvious reasons.

If RealmWare BF3 Settings Editor allows an option where there is no option in-game (and it does) that is an unfair advantage in official match play. I strongly recommend that anyone active in competitive matches remove all Game related editors, launchers, configuration programs or you risk punishment for yourself and your team. The rules are clear, the reasons obvious.

I just hope to gawd it really detects macros. All these clans posting youtube videos on how awesome they are while holding down their left mouse button and gettin no recoil is disgusting.

Links? Please take your time with this request since you obviously know a lot and it'll be hard to choose from this wide selection.
the macro isn't so much for the recoil (as its easy to control on must guns) but more for the bullet spread. most macros are there to make full auto spray accurate, so you hose a player down not him, the wall, and all the map behind him. so seeing a video with controlled recoil really doesn't mean anything.

Removing recoil would mean no bullet spread....I might be wrong.
so if i get black screen shots what can i do to fix it? I read if people keep getting alot of these they can be removed from ladder. Not a real win win situation for most players if you ask me
everybody will get black screens if you play in full screen mode. because this does not work with dx10 or 11. to stop this you have to play in windowed mode. but they say that it still works with black screens so it's no real big deal. dont know were you heard the bit about being removed from the ladder if you keep getting black screens.
well id like to say ive heard of ppl getting banned due to macro software/multi key binding software installed IE the software for my razer edition n52 TE... not sure of the validity however... anyone hacking doesnt want to get caught hahaha. im concerned about added resources this is going need... network, and pc based... some of my guys dont have the BEST pc in the world, as well as connection type/speed. will wait and see how things turn out. probably wont be TOO bad as its based on a match by match setup
Whoever this is... http://EDIT BY ADMIN

You are dickless, and you fail at life. Good day.

Edit: incase someone is asking where I got that from, no I wasn't on the website, it's posted on a thread in the bf3eports forum.

Wow.
Okay, so UAC is official as of yesterday right?

So is the match ID the same as what was provided for league matches?

it uploads all SS's directly after match,
SO, how long are we required to keep the ones on our comp.?
they're not big, but after a several long rounds it will start to add up.
Hey guys, question for you-
I use Autohotkey for a very specific purpose...I rebind ONE key. Laugh all you want but I am an arrow key gamer. The only problem with that is that Q, the spot key, cannot seem to be rebound (ask anyone, it's been like that since launch). So I use AHK for one purpose only...to make my keyboard think that PgDn is Q. Would this be disallowed?
Here's the exact text of my "script" for your review:
-------------------------------------------

PgDn::q

;
; AutoHotkey Version: 1.x
; Language: English
; Platform: Win9x/NT
; Author: http://A.N.Other
;
; Script Function:
; Template script (you can customize this template by editing "ShellNew\Template.ahk" in your Windows folder)
;

#NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases.
SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability.
SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% ; Ensures a consistent starting directory.

PB will kick for AHK. I don't know if UAC catches it or not, but if they don't it would not surprise me if they do in the near future. Your safest bet would be to find another workaround, or learn to live with the game as it is.

To answer your question directly, yes it is disallowed for two reasons. 1) you are introducing a layer between your input and the OS that modifies that input 2) you are technically modifying the game settings in a way that you are not able to through the stock interface. We realize that interface is broken and fucked up, but it is what DICE provided so we basically have to live with it until they patch it.

autohotkey is probably against cause I believe that what they use for macros, or they did in bf2
unless u really need your pgdwn on a daily basis you could use KeyTweak to remap your keyboard.
I guess it's irrelevant anyway because spotting is disabled in our ladder; therefore no reason for me to use the script. Just too bad it can't differentiate between a legit use like mine and whatever you guys are talking about with recoil scripts. Who even thinks of that stuff?

You mean in TWL or globally? Cause I play with it every day in regular games and I certainly don't get kicked by PB...
Supposedly it does. There were some bans that they reversed on pbbans.
If one more scrub cries about macros, I swear to god. Ever since some random hopped on beasto for ~shaky aim~ every shitty player and his brother has been crying about macros. Get off it and learn to shoot.

Will this get me kicked or banned by PunkBuster?

No. BF3 Settings Editor is entirely safe — you will not get into any trouble with PunkBuster. BF3 Settings Editor only modifies your Battlefield 3 settings files; it does not touch the core game files in any way, nor does it make any modifications to the running game. There are many players using this tool, and none of them have reported any issues with PunkBuster.

I do not have any keys remapped, but I use this tool for tweaking other in-game settings (trying to get every drop of performance out of a dying rig). I'm sure there are many others on here who would also vouch for Realmware tools.
So, you can't use fucking FXAA mod?

Lolwow.

i have had numerous persons reporting that "x" number of players are shown as inactive, or didnt have any scans. can somebody please clarify this?

*this is after the match, when players are looking at reports.
Post edited by Juxtapuh at 3/21/2012 11:49:25 AM
for some reason the scan box becomes unchecked. all you have to do is check it again and it starts scanning. dont forget to hit refresh.
I got a bunch of errors last night after our league match... don't know if everything went through taht was supposed to or not...
What is the appropriate action if a every member on the team does not have UAC up and running?

Send a email with the match id to ac@teamwarfare.com. We'll check it out.

I've a simple question.

Is a manually created user.cfg file allowed by UAC during ranked TWL match?
