M320 Ban Announcement - Ladders

Teams,

The M320 Ban Vote finished with 33 votes to ban and 15 votes to keep. With these results we are moving to ban the M320 Frag Round from 4v4 Squad Rush Competition.

This will go into effect starting 2/7/2012.

Is this for both Regular and Hardcore 4v4 Squad Rush?

^ I have made a couple posts asking this same question seeing as how I wasn't even allowed to vote (team founder for 4v4 hardcore)

This was just for regular.

I had not heard much complaint in the HC gametype. Do teams think it needs a vote for the HC Ladders?

Are you kidding? I was under the impression the ban was for all squad rush. I never felt it necessary to specifically call out HC.

Yes there needs to be a vote for hardcore. I thought this was originally for hardcore, or thought the vote back in December was. I guess I have to hope the opposing teams agree to not use it until the new vote is over. *Sigh*
The title of the vote and announcement both stated 'Ladders'
So I think many teams felt that meant all 4v4 Ladders.

Yeah I personally didn't want it banned but even so I thought it was for all ladders-both softcore and hardcore.

the way i see it, if i had the option to vote for it, i would ban it for hardcore as well, gone up against too many teams over recent weeks who have just 320'd the objectives, taking the skills needed to storm and hold an objective, clays and C4 are cool, but sick and tired of running into a wall of tubes

None of the team founders for 4v4 hardcore were able to vote.
How is it fair to ban a weapon from that game mode without even letting them have a say.

I'm sure if they did have a say the vote would have been much closer.

Personally I find the m320 great for making doorways that aren't there to begin with.
Which in turn adds strategy and more ways to take/hold sites. Also is a good way to blow up the 8 claymores people will plaster bomb site with or all the c4.

If we're going to start banning things like the m320, where does it end. Next is it going to be rpg? Then oh, well now the claymores gotta go, might as well get rid of the c4 while we're at it...

In my opinion none of the weapons should be banned from hardcore - it's HARDCORE!

Keep all this weapon restriction B.S. to regular mode.

I was thinking we were all under the impression this was for ALL 4v4 squad rush.

The M320 needed the ban ESPECIALLY in hardcore. It's even easier to kill and any close shot with the M320 is death. Just shoot 320's at the MCOM and as long as you're close you'll kill the planter or defuser.

I'm so sad we're even having this discussion. Can't we just blanket it for all ladders? I dont want to go another hardcore match having to deal with that crap.

But the reason is clear.

The logical and most sound arguments against removing the M320 are...

"But I like it."

&

"Where does it stop?"

How can you not agree with these astute and very logical arguments against banning the M320?

You guys must be some kind of noobs wanting to remove a weapon that makes the game easier for people who can't shoot or come up with any kind of sound tactic.

What are the good teams supposed to do that need the M320 to do anything close to planting the MCOMM?

How can you play a game without some kind of invisible insta-kill grenade that you can't dodge when you don't have the skill to shoot someone?

My god you people are a bunch of baddies relying on bullets and strategy to get the MCOMM planted.

Didn't you know that this 4v4 SQR is supposed to be as close to pubbing as we can make it?

You're ruining it by taking these out.

Do you agree with the sarcasm? Or do you just agree with it? Two totally different things.

I agree that in hardcore, you shouldn't be a little girl, just man up and play with everything. It was put into the game, you bought the game, now use what you've bought.

ok so a team is m320 spamming you, pop some m320 smoke off to the side, they spam the smoke, and you sneak up behind them and get all their tags, plant the site and you win. Its called tactics and if you ban all the weapons then we are just running around punching each other (yeah knife is banned too at this point, because of the 1 hit kill from animation knife)

Once the banhammer starts rolling, it probably wont stop. Frag round, bye. Tactical light, bye. m320, bye. MAV, bye. ability to have fun, bye. Its a free league, there is no reason to ban all this stuff unless people were playing for money. Allow people to play how they want and more people will play. If you want a bunch of items banned, the easiest way to ban them is by going into origin, right clicking on Battlefield 3, and selecting "uninstall"

Please stop the mindless banning already, I'm tired of losing all of this stuff. You are eliminating tactics, making it less fun. Allow everything and LEARN to play around it. Come on people its not the end of the world if an MAV is flying over your head, they've lost 1 guy by doing that, and the m320 can be used for more than killing a person. Also, tactical lights were patched, put them back in. Yes frag rounds are overpowered, but both teams have them unlocked. It's an even playing field whichever side your on.
