Any thoughts on claymores and C4 placed by defenders in close proximity or on direct paths to MComms?

In 4v4 they tend to create rather unfortunate situations which reward laziness and camping rather than skill. I'm not for banning every feature in BF3, but it's reasonable to say that some things do not belong in any self-respecting competitive environment.

Using IRNV to shoot through fences does not require skill. Killing opponents blinded by flashlights does not require skill. Having a Support player sitting back in your own spawn with C4 on the objective or placing claymores conveniently at the Bomb does not require skill.

I don't mind if claymores are placed away from the Mcomm, but it's unfair when a defending team can place unlimited C4 or mines on an objective with no repercussions whatsoever (Mcomms will not take damage). In my opinion, allowing teams to continue doing this would undermine the integrity and jeopardize the legitimacy of any skill-based competitive environment.
throw a nade on the mcom
one minor special amendment: captgarrett is allowed to use the automatic shotgun firing grenades. Him and him alone.

^this...played a TWL ruleset scrim lastnight, other team just put claymores every where. IRNV at least shows claymores/c4....

So the solution to claymores everywhere is to allow irnv?

This is getting funny.

C4 Shouldn't be a problem... removing claymores would be a good idea imo...

Throwing a nade at the mcomm prior to a plant attempt would solve this issue just like the zoid said...
Since when does TWL allow clays in competition?

C4 is fine but clays are just set em and leave em.

Kill the guy who laid them and your problem is solved.

But I see your points.

You can move past clays crouched.

Since I can remember.

Well that's brilliant, so I'll just take my time crouching tactically around the MComm while under fire, assuming of course I know that the clays are even there, then shall I calmly crouch walk away while the enemy team admires me?

As far as nades are concerned, I don't know about you guys but I'm not in the habit of hoarding them just in case some scrub put C4 on the objective. I can understand nading the Mcomm when you know the explosives have been set, but I'm not going launch nades whenever I spawn hoping that I get lucky. These are just more tools for bad players to compensate for their lack of skill and strategy.

You should work on your memory.
I've witness the use in bf2 matches, never heard anybody complain. Never seen in the rules so prove me wrong brah.

edit: Talking about battlefield not cod.

OK all,

The c4 and claymores disappear upon death. They are part of the game and made to defend certain points. We can consider the option of removing them from gameplay. For right now, they are still valid.

I don't want to have them removed from the game, I just want them removed from around the Mcomm. To me it just doesn't seem right that a Support can sit in his uncap zone with C4 and endlessly explode attackers trying to plant. If you've only got one or two people left on your team, a claymore or C4 can be devastating. I would be OK with this if the Mcomms took damage from the explosions because there would then be a limit on how much C4 or clays you could put on your own objective (as in BC2). Please keep this in consideration.
