Can't put a password on my priv server after patch/R9!

Hey guys,

I never had a problem with the password, but since the patch/R9 I cant seem to get a password on. I have the server set to unranked, and in the main website config file I have vars.gamePassword "qwerty" set. I restart server and it doesn't put the password on. I also try to put a password on through procon, but it keeps giving me a "X" when i type it in. Anyone else having this problem?

Could it be my game server provider? I'm with End of Reality. I've also been having problems with kill cam. I have it set to OFF in the config, and it keeps turning it on randomly! So annoying when trying to scrim, gotta keep restarting server and such. Sometimes it doesnt even turn off when I restart server. ANy help would be great please!

Probably global issue, we are having the same problem at |EAS| Might be best to postpone any pending matches till this is fixed. Servers are crashing, not showing in Battlelog and the password issue.

Posted Nov 22 11:10 EST We are aware there are currently issues with servers not showing up on battlelog or being removed from battlelog. EA/DICE are looking into the issue, but there is currently no ETA on when the issue will be corrected. Currently the only fix for this issue is to restart your server and it will show in BattleLog again.


Resetting the server only helps for a short time then it again fails to show in Battlelog.
No ETA on the fix.

Alright. What about the kill cam, any ideas?

Since you cant add a password to a ranked server, you need to make sure that your match server is set to unranked by adding the following in your startup.cfg:

vars.ranked "false"

No problem, should solve issues with setting vars.startround back to 1 or 2 and setting vars.allunlocks ture

As i stated in the original post, my server is unranked. I have that command in my startup config. Still doesnt work.

vars.ranked "false" doesnt solve the issue.

Problem solved. I figured it out! You have to take out the password line completely, remove it from the config, and set it to unranked. Then you need to restart the server. After its restarted, open the config again and put the password line in (possible it has to be below the vars.ranked false line) then restart the server again. Worked for me.

That could be possible! I know that on my server all i needed to do is add that vars.ranked "false" at the TOP of my startup.cfg.

I guess it could depend on server host too.
