A Way Around R7

I know this would be an extra spending for a lot of people, but a possible way around this entire situation is using End of Reality server hosting.


Our server we have with them still has the R6 patch, and has options to install from R5 up to R7 at will. If a few people picked up servers, it wouldn't be that difficult to rotate out and at least finish up the first round of matches.

That probably wont last long, R7 is a mandatory update according to EA.

Or let some teams use your server?

I wouldn't mind letting some teams use our servers if they wanted. I know that TWL already posted up about postponing matches, but if they're fine with it, I have no problems letting people use it.

I submitted a ticket in with End of Reality Hosting to see if they will at any point forcefully enforce the R7 or any patch at all. I'll update with their response in this thread when I get it.

Xfactorservers has it to where you can go back to the R6 patch. I actually had to do this because the R7 patch was causing issues with my servers being found in the server browser.

I too am open to hosting matches for teams if need be.

I'm actually going to open a thread to see how many people have servers that we could downgrade to. If we have enough, we could easily have the matches go right ahead with everything - people would just have to work out borrowing servers and such.

we have 3 servers on EOR, and haven't had any problems at all. So far so good.

I have in game admin working as well, if someone needs a server let me know we have 2 x 32 player servers and 1 x 48 player.
