These are the potential top five teams in BF3. Feel free to prove me wrong by being awesome (or bad if you're already on the list). Hopefully this game lasts a long time and we have time to add to this list. I'm hoping to do some power rankings and matchup previews at some point. It's a bit early for either right now, so enjoy this in the mean time.
20ID
Infantry - Alex, Proof, Nysil, Hak, Babyspinach, Jamison, Jackelpdw, Jouninn
Armor - Buckwild, Daskro, Flow
Chopper - Leber, Swifty
Jet - Gatz
Overall - 20ID has been a top three team in every single Battlefield game dating back to BF42. The current roster is a mix of legacy 20ID, Warchild, iHOT, Crucial and several new faces. They are a solid team all around with their strength being armor and air. Beyond even whats listed here, 20ID has multiple players with a lot of armor seasons under their belt.
A thing to look out for with 20ID is their infantry. Due to having a mix of players from multiple teams, it will be interesting to see how the ground pounders come together. They will need to gel quickly to keep up with the other teams who have been together longer.
Dynamic
Infantry - Nova, Rizz, TV, Chad, DouBle-D, Pfeiffer, Smurf, Achilles, Ralph, J5, Zman, Lt.Death
Armor - Lt.Death, Malakai, RedHot
Chopper - Zman, Rizz
Jet - Zman, Rizz
Bench - Xor
Overall - Dynamic is a team that slowly built up strength in BF2 by poaching top players such as Lt.Death and Malakai from other teams. Over the past few years, their roster has stayed primarily the same with the biggest recent addition being Pfeiffer in BC2.
The armor is by far Dynamics biggest strength. Malakai and Lt.Death have been two of the best tankers throughout BF history and RedHot is no pushover. Only having a few top infantry players could prove a weakness, but theyve typically compensated by playing as a cohesive whole rather than as individuals.
Next Level
Infantry - BiggyTim, $henanigan$, Sm0key, Uber, Wanky, Schnitzengiggles, Silveredge, Detention, Bull, Prophet, Mr. Eso
Armor - HP, Sm0key
Chopper - Elder and Incinerate
Jet - Elder and Incinerate
Overall - nL has always been known for their great infantry. In BF2, they were considered by many to be the best 5v5 infantry team in the game. They showed this by winning multiple seasons and always being a force where infantry was involved.
While they arent known for their skills with armor and air, they have shown enough of a proficiency with both to keep them competitive long enough for their infantry to gain the edge. BF3 seems to be a more infantry oriented game, and for that reason alone, I expect nL to sit near the top.
Rival
Infantry - Cartel, Nymic, Panda, Beast, Casio, Drewseph, Mercenary, SiByte
Armor - Grenade and Nymic
Chopper - Vic
Jet - Ninja-fz
Overall - Rival was a very good team in both BC2 and 2142, where the only team even close to their level was the unstoppable Pr0w. Their roster has stayed mostly the same from BC2 to now and this stability will be easily seen in the smoothness with which they work together.
Rival will no doubt have a solid infantry core with good shots and even better teamwork. Grenade is a good tanker that began making a name for himself late in BF2, but outside of him, they lack top armor dudes and pilots. Look for Rival to lean on their infantry and map preparedness to win matches.
Team HOT
Infantry - Michael3D, Gnome, Skadoodle, Rob-wiz, Moz, Nastygurlllll, Hollywood, Jerunk
Armor - LeGun
Chopper - captgarret, Jerunk
Jet - captgarret, Jerunk
Overall - Team HOT has been a successful team for many years across numerous games. They were a top team in 12v12, 8v8 and 5v5 in BF2, showing they are a strong all-around group with vehicles and infantry. Their roster has a lot of veteran battlefield players along with some very good fraggers from the CoD series.
Currently, they sport one of the scariest infantry lineups in the game. Since BF3 tends to be geared more towards infantry, this should translate to them having a fair amount of success. Though they have good tankers and pilots, they dont have anyone that stands out. Expect them to overwhelm you with their infantry to hide some of the weaknesses they have in other areas.
