Battlefield 3 Launch Tournament

BF3 is launching on October 25th, which is only a few more days away. With the release of the highly anticipated 6th game in the PC series of Battlefield, the TeamWarfare League is proud to announce the BF3 Launch Tournament.

Format: 8v8 Conquest Single Elimination
Rules: Similar to BF2/BC2
Number of Teams: 64

Maplist: TBD

The tournament will have two matches per week, on Tuesday and Thursday starting November 1st.

Dates:

Round 1: Tuesday Nov 1
Round 2: Thursday Nov 3
Round 3: Tuesday Nov 8
Round 4: Thursday Nov 10
Round 5: Tuesday Nov 15
Round 6: Thursday Nov 17

Prizes: five 32 person ranked servers courtesy of Art Of War Central

Prizes to be given away as follows:

1 Server will randomly be given to a team that makes it into the 3rd Round
1 Server will randomly be given to a team that makes it into the 4th Round
1 Server will randomly be given to a team that makes it into the 5th Round
1 Server will be given to EACH team that makes it to the Sixth Round Finals

All prizes will be awarded after the completion of the round.

Ya, I wouldn't mind a week later, but I can see how Holiday stuff would start to influence it at that point. Either way, a launch tournament is what it is. It gives everyone a chance to really experience the game competitively and see how it's going to work out. Can't wait.

not required but recommended. If you don't, you just need to workout with your opponent to use theirs or if they don't have one, find one to borrow.

8v8??? Why have you done this. So much for formats with multiple jets and choppers. Why is everyone content to play infantry dominated maps from the get go. Lets go back to playing battlefield like it was meant to be played?

I agree with you 100% the game has gone towards infantry over vehicles, exspecially in the 8s. I remeber in the bf2 days, we got to use 1 jet in the 8s on cleasweep, hoping bf3 will be the same or it will be another bc2 all over again.

Its ok it probably will not spread to more than 1 or 2 per team when cheats are in their beginning stages Battlefield games can overrun cheats at some point. Can't aimbot a tank. LOL

But for a game like COD even 1 cheater will carry a whole team.

This is why I like BF games. Infantry mode did have an impact when someone was cheating but when 8v8s are out its totally strat and teamwork that will always win.

You need to reseed these brackets, they are AWFUL.

You have Dynamic, rivaL 1, rivaL 2, LS, MU 1, MU 2, Next Level, Xshades team all not only on one side of the tournament, but ALL in one division.

This needs to be reseeded badly.

This is not entirely accurate. Dunpowers was able to cheat his way pretty much by himself in beating Dynamic when he played for eNvy back in season 5 or so. If you have someone that can call out where the entire other team is at all times, it will make a huge difference.

How do I sign up?? I already have a team, Ground Zer0 Gaming (Gz0|) and we want to play! but when I went to "join a competition" on my team's page, this tournament is not listed. Please help us get registered! Thanks

It's currently full, their is a waiting list. As I posted, just follow directions and your team might get a spot due to team without enough players at a certain time.

I think it would be beneficial to have seeds for at least the top 8 teams. It really shouldn't be too difficult to judge who should be the number 1 seeds based on the history of the teams. Sure there might be a team or two that will surprise people with who they win against, but probably not many.

+1 to that. There are teams that everyone expects amazing things from and throwing them into certain seeds really wouldn't hurt anything.
