Saw it coming, but it sure as hell doesn't mean I'm happy about it.
You mean EA Account required? Who gives a damn.
I like that idea actually. Everyone always complains about how Battlefield has a horrid buddy system and community aspects; then when something comes out people like to shit on it. This is a move in the right direction if they want to achieve something like steam. Who cares if you prefer steam, alternatives are always good for the consumer.

Uh no? I mean Origin and its attempted steam interface. I'd opt for neither personally. What I've seen of Origin so far hasn't impressed me. It's especially annoying if the server browser and all their battle blog are all run via website as it was in alpha.

The idea of logging into origin, clicking load game, being directed to a website, finding a server, loading the server through the webpage and then getting into the game seems immensely retarded and such a round about way to just open a game and get in a server. If this is trimmed down or optional, maybe where you can simply have to have origin but not use the server browser on the website, I'd be content.

I am still crying because i will never see BF3 on Steam
Oh well at least it's not Steam
I prefer my competition to actually compete. You know by making a better product with new and innovative features that make me want to use it.

Gluing Origin to BF3 does not make Origin a competitor to Steam. Steam has 8 years on Origin and is by far a much more mature product.

Origin is the annoying 7 year old redheaded cousin that you're forced to take to the movies. The little fucker annoys the crap out of you but there's no way to get rid of him.

In the end isolating your developers top games to digital distribution system that is FORCED on people rather than installed by choice is a losing proposition. Origin will become an EA island while Steam and other digital distribution flourish by being open to all and competing on features.

the only question i have is if origin servers go down will you still be able to play multiplayer games or will you be shit out of luck like when steam goes down. digital distribution is a good idea but not when you shackle your products to some system that must be working for the product to work.
