Homefront expectations, anyone?

Hello TWL BC2 gamers.

As some of you guys know (imo) Homefront is coming out soon, i always read the Steam forums to keep in touch of any game and stuff like that. But it seems that the Homefront forums is not active right now.

I just saw one video of the multiplayer gameplay and looks like FoW, i believe that a lot of us got so many hopes of that game when it was released but it failed so hard.
Definitely not jumping on this one.

I don't regret purchasing FFOW as I felt that Trauma/Kaos had likely earned an impulse buy from me given the *thousands* of hours of enjoyment I received, for free, from the Desert Combat modification for 1942. I consider myself one of DCs biggest fans.

Unfortunately they failed on so many fronts (technical, support, community, etc) that only with positive *peer* reviews (forget the industry reviews, they touted FFOW and then went on to review the next game..) and an acceptable passage of time will I even consider getting this one. If it earns community accolades I'll be thrilled, but their handling of FFOW and what little I've seen in previews looks sub par and reeks of "stay away!".
I've spoken to some people whom have played the beta version in some form, and they all gave it rave reviews for the single player - but of course the story was also written by the guy who wrote Red Dawn and such so I guess that's to be expected.

I think it's got potential, but like dox said I'm gonna have to hold out on buying it since I bought FFOW and it was a flop. Feel like I wasted my money.

After watching the dev videos on Steam it appears that Kaos is doing the multiplayer as well. It doesn't mention what engine, I assume Unreal 3?
it is the unreal engine

this is from wikipedia:

Homefront's PC version has been outsourced to Digital Extremes, a Canadian developer responsible for numerous Unreal Tournament games and Bioshock ports. Frank Delise, the executive producer of the PC version has stated that the PC version of the game will feature exclusive content and dedicated servers. Additional exclusive features include clan support, DirectX 11 graphics, and first person vehicle cockpits.[16][17] It has also been confirmed that Homefront will be released on Steam.[18]

but again, that is wikipedia

The drones. Oh god the drones.
I had high hopes for Frontlines... This looks very similar so we'll see. Might test it out.. I doubt it gets any real attention though.
I'll wait and see what other people say. I'm more excited about Brink, though I'm afraid that the smart system won't be all that smart. Bad joke.
