Two major changes that we have been discussing for a while that I think deserve more public input before anything final is agreed upon.

1. Restricting the medic class in 4v4SR to one per team. Enforceable via Guardian or a video/screenshot with 2+ players in the medic "skin".

2. Blowing up the MCOMM will only be allowed via planting or destroying the building. Using RPGs, C4, 40mms, etc. on the station itself will not result in a forfeit, but destroying it with them will. You may use these items to take down the building itself. All burden of proof lies on the defending team and it must be indisputable.

2a. Destroying the station in an illegal manner will result in 0 points for that round. In other words, if you legitimately take the first point, but illegally take the second, your team will receive 0 points for that round.
What happens when a medic on one team dies, and a person from the other side picks up his kit. He spawns back as a medic and dies again and someone else takes that kit. now one team has 3 medics or does guardian not let you pick up a medic kit if teams are limited to 1 and already have 1.
It's based on skin, not which weapon you have.

like panda said, its based on the skin. medic skin is distinctly different than the other classes so its easy to tell the difference. Killing your teammates to get more medkits however is not allowed if twl is gonna use wogl rules.

allen whats the word on the other kits? 40mm 1 limit? 1 recon limit?

1 shotgun limit?

are we gonna use wogl's rules completely or different? imo same rules would be VERy nice so teams can all scrim the same rulesets and not have to figure out what kits are allowed etc.
Allen,

Rule 2. Blowing up the MCOM. Would that rule only be applicable to SR? If so I have no problem with it.
XShades - This is all 4v4SR. Sorry, should have clarified that.

Neb - No. I'm not going to change our rules to mimic WOGL's. From the beginning we've talked about limiting the medic class and I think it's finally time to go forward with it, at least in 4v4SR.

As for the shotgun and 40mm limit, I haven't seen enough in these forums to support an outright limit on it. Not to mention, those limits get into the "trust" area, where we have very few ways to enforce it (other than just trusting the other team).

Recon, again, I haven't seen a whole lot here to suggest teams are overwhelmingly in support of a limit on it.

If the community's opinion changes then we will move forward with the necessary changes on our end. Just show us what you want without degrading a thread into nothing more than insults.

Edit: And yes, if you are caught deliberately killing your teammates to gain additional medic kits, your team will be punished pretty severely.

And I understand your concern with wanting both sites to use the same ruleset, but to be honest, we've been here since the beta. That, and both communities are different, thus they have different demands. While they likely overlap quite a bit, the primary concern here is to cater to TWL's players and not force the WOGL ruleset upon them.

Nice. Now I might actually make a 4v4 team. I can't stand medic trains in this game. I like to switch kits up when I play not be forced to play a medic or lose. The MCOM change is also nice.

So in summary:
- Plant only for direct MCOM destruction
- Collapsing building housing MCOM is legal

You have to keep this simple

The only issue I see from this is the reintroduction of Mortar/Rockets from spawn area into the building.
I applaud twl for bringing destroying buildings back into the 4v4, as for the medic limitation it was bound to happen anyways

Just watching this video makes me puke at how stupid Medics are in this game and revive immunity. Notice how there are no classes besides medics there. Pretty retarded and this is why it needed to change with the 1 medic per team.

have you put up a vote though allen?

just because you havent seen people voice their opinion doesnt mean it isnt there.

From what ive talked to teams and heard, wogl rules has made the game more about teamwork and ability to shoot. The limits on 40mm GL i believe is enforceable just like the medic(not positive since i dont run a server) and shotgun i believe is enforceable as well(again, not positive)

but those limitations have made it so that teams that normally couldnt do well because they couldnt medic train that effectively but had good shots can now make the games interesting.

Imo, put up a vote and see if teams/players would like that exact ruleset or something.

anything to get away from the medic train though is for sure a positive lol.
40mm GL is not enforceable via Guardian. Shotguns are.
It should be enforcable... it is in procon, same way shotties are... needs to meet two criteria... assault and >1 40mmgl
Whats the problem with the 40mm? I'll admit its been a while since I've played a Vanilla game but I seem to remember you almost have to make a direct hit for a kill.

Are they that over powered in SR that they need banning?
it doesnt allow a team to sit back and spam destroyable points with 3 assault kits all day long.

sorry but destruction of the point/building is stupid. it encourages teams to hide and hit the point.

the way it is now, with the combination of multiple kits, makes it a VERY enjoyable game. teams actually have to use that thing called teamwork to win.
Ahh I see. Sorry I don't play much SR. I guess there are a lot of destroyable MCOM's?

That means you would have to ban all rockets, C4, Mines and Mortars as well right?

Are there any maps where both MCOMS are in destroyable buildings? If not then why not just use the same strategy for the one destroyable building (Cancels it out if both teams destroy it) and then focus your real defense on the MCOM that cannot be destroyed at range? I know it sucks but its DICE's fault for putting the damn things in matchstick buildings in the first place.

Those poor Euros... Casio and Drewseph will be famous forever
Infamous.
limiting the kits to make teams have to spend 40 grenades to take down the building from 1 person is what i would rather have if building destruction is gonna be left in. letting them all go assault with 40mm grenades and you'll get the teams who wanna just win at all costs and exploit the range on the map.
Limit 1 recon. 4 recon can MMS the entire map.
I don't see a problem allowing multiple shotguns or 40MM. If building destruction is in you'll obviously have to limit 40MM GL.
What if your team accidentally kills a medic on your team? How will anyone be able to prove the difference?

valid point. I mean i've never killed a teammate in a match before as far as i can remember (unless it was intentional). But thats irrelevant.
if you see tk's over and over throughout the match and all of a sudden a team has 4 medics.

Its not back in yet, this is just a discussion/poll on the issue. As of now its still illegal to do.

Seems that most think it should stay that way and if buildings can be brought down from an inaccessible spawn area then it should stay out.
"2. Blowing up the MCOMM will only be allowed via planting or destroying the building"

Mortaring buildings from spawn FTL....
Lets just hurry up and get this stuff implemented so I can make a team.
No matter what the outcome of the poll is, destroying the mcomm building from the uncap area will be illegal.

This rule will not change if we allow building destruction back in.
The rule should probably clarify that taking a dead enemy medic's kit is okay.
