What is worth playing now days?

Greetings all, I'm an old school gamer. I used to play competitively in CAL and TWL during the MOHAA and COD 1-2 days. I stepped away from competition after BF2 because it seemed like the games were all about effects and glitz and just weren't as playable.

I've been playing again lately and tried a few of the newer games like COD4, BF3 and GS:GO. CS:GO played the best but I was never a huge CS fan. COD4 and BF3 look great and have a lot of cool stuff but there almost unplayable for a competitive player. The clipping is horrible and anti-lag just frustrates me to no end. How can you make split second decisions when you cant believe what your seeing on the screen?

My question is- Are there any new FPS games without anti-lag and have dedicated servers?
Everything you've said pretty much nailed it.

By COD4 do you mean CODBO2? COD4 came out in 2007, BO2 is the most recent release.

Edit: And no, CS is pretty much the only game I know of that is truly competition ready (by old standards).

Thanks Allen, I'll keep looking around. Ground Branch seems to have some promise. I hope they get a demo out soon.
Thats right. no good comp games. I play bf3 a lot, and as much as I would love that game I get BSed so often. but it's better then cod so I play
LOL haven't seen you in a while Klink. I used to play back then as well played mostly sof2 and rtcw. both on the CAL, TWL, IGL, and the OGL. was fun, tried to get back into it as well, decided my time was past and now I just fly around in the warcraft scene
Good too see you Legion. Yeah I've been puttering my time away with BF3 and WTG (world tour golf). Some of the old =KaoS= even join me now and then. A few of them moved on to WOT. I really hope they get Ground Branch into beta. It looks like the best chance we have.
