CDS 1.54 Text box problem

Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2003-09-14 · 16 posts
I got a weird problem with my CDS installation.

No text in the textboxes are showing when writing in them.
No text on the buttons are showing.
Can't view player list (due to text not showing =) )

All static text are fine though, tried to reinstall as well, and end up with the same error.

The program do work, but it's rather annoying when trying to correct incorrect IP addresses

Thanks

Hhmm, I've never heard of that one before.

Have you tried the Full install after uninstalling the old one?
yes I did.
It's not really a trouble, most frustrating.
At the moment I got the most topsecret CDS listbox and text field boxes

Why is it that the bottom text box [status info, says stuff like..

Not connected to CD server.
Not connected to CD server.
Not connected to CD server.
Disconnected

is a Text Box and not a label box... like i can type in it.

LOL. Didn't I answer that one for you before.
Hydra, this is what my CDS client looks like.
Perhaps I'm missing some font you're using.

That is a big problem, obviously.

Yeah, I found that post Hydra... never saw it before [must of missed that thread response]
Damn Silver, now you guys said you'se wanted a cleaner interface, LOL.

I believe it's just using a standard Arial or Times New Roman font, like the labels there. But I'll check.
I don't say I enjoy the clean look, I actually do.
But I also enjoy beeing able to see what I do.

Perhaps it's time for me to reinstall my OS again ...

lol, it looks nice, too bat it aint functional :/
Hydra, any news on this matter?

No, it's a standard font. But, I did notice every place that your missing the text is where I have the font set larger and in bold. Not that that explains anything to me, just an observation.

I think I'll add the ability to select your own sizes and possibly even font.

In the mean time, open up Word or something and see if you can write in Bold from like 12 point upto like 20 point with the Arial and Times New Roman fonts.

Please!

Adding a feature to let us select the font would be great!
Hydra, I don't have any problem with the font in word or alike. I wonder if it could be a stupid windows setting somewhere that I need to change though, something like "Windows for seeing impared" or similar

Edit:

Okay, the text is showing if I change my DPI from 100% to 75% size, so it's a problem with the text "jumping out of bounds"

Running 1280x1024 for screen resolution if that might help any.

Ahh, OK, that makes sense.

I've never tested it that high as my old ass monitor only goes as high as 1024 X 768.

I'll still see about adding the selectable fonts and sizes though, so you don't have to keep switching it just to play.

(hehe, not that it's hard, but still)
Thanks for even considering it
