Ciph3r CrackaB is no longer on the AAO roster for USMC, He removed himself after this whole debacle. I suggest you contact Raizer our XO and deal with him.

If this group (TWL) is going to be scaning all of our HD and we cant keep private information private then I as well as others would like to know exactly who has access to these logs and the age of these people. If these people are under 18 then you have serious problems. I am 35 years old and Ill be dammed if I am going to allow children to search my HD. The reason being is if something did happen an underage person would get a slap on the hand and an adult would be punished to the fullest. I have up to 20 employee's history home address, SSI # as well as applications all on my Laptop and from time to time I do play AAO on my laptop. I want to make damn sure TWL has my best interests involved just as much as trying to get cheats from game. You (TWL) Must come up with a happy medium.

Thanks....

Oh and Blood didnt break any rules. His program hides and locks folders but it doesnt mask the running of an exe. Or you wouldnt have been able to see the box.exe instance running.

Again Thanks...

This is getting stupid. You always have the option to opt out. Not trying to be shitty but if you have that much heartburn with CDC, go to CAL or something. Of course, you are already there and are using another form of the same thing. You guys posted a good argument regarding the functioning of the program that got your guy busted. You should keep going down that line, I think you will be successful. Regarding this argument about what is scanned and who is doing it, it doesn't work because you don't have to run CDC. You have plenty of other League/Ladder options to choose from. Also, it is a little lame to be arguing this after running CDC for 5 years. It's a little late in the game now.

Hey Gunns as situations come up things change, and so do ideas. Personal identity theft is up and I want to make damn sure TWL is doing everything it can to protect us from something like that happening! Is that too much to ask?
No its not.

Do you know alot about CDC and how it works?
Well I dont, I thought it scanned your AAO folder for cheats and checked running exe's to see if a cheat was running. But banning a person because he wants to keep his personal information secure is stupid. This is the reason why I would like TWL to talk about this program and give some guarentee's they are taking all the security steps they can to protect us as well as gamers from cheats.

Once again is that too much to ask?

CDC does not have the ability to read documents. I am bound by a NDA so I can't get into the nuts and bolts of it but be assured it can not do what you are concerned about.

Also, on another concern of yours. TWL staff here at AA are 18+ and most of the senior staff is much older than that. I myself will be 29 shortly. Only anti-cheat staff and AA leadership at TWL have access to the logs.

I respect you guys and your concerns but in moving forward you need to bring your concerns up through the proper channels. Has your guy filed an appeal with quality control yet? If not then do so.

CDC does not just SCAN your harddrive for known cheats. As stated by Effingee above. . . i will not go into detail on what it does do so I do not violate my NDA, but I can assure you that nothing related to documents, or personal information is logged. I can also assure you that every single time ANYONE (which access is VERY limited) attempts to access the FTP the logs are stored on. . that information is logged as well.

I don't think it makes any sense considering how long you yourself, and [USMC] has been around to even question what it does, what it reads, how it does it, or anything along those lines.

We have banned many hackers that pay good money for "undetected" hacks. . . and i can also assure you that because of this. . . you have had a pretty damn fair battlefield to play on. Now that a USMC player was caught running a program that is deemed illegal by TWL. . . the way it works is an issue with you? Sorry for sounding so blunt, but I can guarantee you that if it was a player on the opposing team in one of your matches. . that you lost. . that was running lockbox. . you would not question it whatsoever.

I cannot emphasize enough, that your team mate was NOT caught running a hack. He simply violated the rules that were in place since before I was even here.

Because of this we have launched an entirely new investigation and have incorporated more testing of old, and new versions to be able to make a final decision on your team mate.

If we are able to determine that with lockbox installed you cannot run any hack program, or hide any processes then the final decision will change, and your player will be reinstated.

Please refer CrackaB to this post, as I have been unable to contact him myself.

And oh ya, Blood did break the rules, because it plainly states (and has always) that any programs that are designed to hide anything are not legal on TWL. He is not the first person to be banned/suspended for it, and until we come to a final decision. . . he wont be the last.

It honestly hurts me to see such a well respected clan all of a sudden have a shit fit when one of their players were caught "violating the rules", but like I said before. . . if it was a player on the opposing team that was running lockbox during your match. . . and you lost, you assumed something fishy was going on, we found the player to be running lockbox. . what would you want us to do? Enforce the rules, or let it go?

I am very sorry this had to happen, but the way you guys are handling it, and questioning it on public forums is not the way to go about it.

I would be more then happy to engage in a conversation with you or any USMC member to explain why its an issue, but the forums is not the place for it.

Contact Raizer for issue resolution. Im done with AA.
Sucks to hear.

The fact i have already talked with blood, and personally tried contacting you hopefully shows you that I myself (along with the AC team) does give a shit.

However, im not here to recruit you to TWL, my clan, nor AA. . . but if you are truly done, you will be missed.

I have enjoyed many pub games along side, and against you. I hope your not basing that decision off of the recent events.
Nope, I've been disgruntled with the state of the game for awhile now. After scrimming a few COD4 scrims, and realizing how nice it is when you have to wait .3 seconds to get a scrim with a team you've never scrimmed before Im realizing the grass is greener.

I was done with AA prior to Blood getting perma-banned. This didnt have anything to do with that decision.

Actually Ciph3r you dont know me to well. I would stand by someones right to privacy on this matter if it was brought up. I never really came to these forums so I never looked at this CDC forum until Blood got banned. Thus the reason why I am taking this stance even after 5 years and it makes plenty of sense now I fully understand how it works. I will still continue to play at TWL with CDC now you have guarenteed me that private information isnt taken I feel alot better about that and in ways Im sorry I didnt bring these points up 5 years ago but better late then never I say.

And oh ya, Blood did break the rules, because it plainly states (and has always) that any programs that are designed to hide anything are not legal on TWL. He is not the first person to be banned/suspended for it, and until we come to a final decision. . . he wont be the last.

That rule doesnt make alot of sense if you think about it bro. Did you know that windows vista comes with a program that does the same thing? Are you going to start banning people because they have vista. Your rules reads as follows

Usage Agreement

By using this software, you agree to the following.

1.) To allow this software to scan* your memory for known America's Army cheats.
2.) To allow this software to scan* your folders and files for the purpose of detecting known cheats.
3.) To allow this software to forcibly terminate any instance of Americas Army that it didn't explicitly start.
4.) To allow this software to terminate any process deemed to be suspicious.
5.) To allow this software to report and possibly transmit any found discrepancies to the CD Server including your IP.
6.) To not attempt to alter or reverse engineer this software.
7.) That you have no rights whatsoever in the redistribution of this product without the author’s express written permission.
8.) That you will not use any built-in in-game cheats, such as DevMode, MPCheat etc…, definition of such shall be determined by TeamWarfare.
9.) That this software will only be used for official TWL matches or matches sanctioned by TWL.
10.) That you understand that this software is inherently invasive but never transmits personal information

Here is your own rule taken from your own website

Aimbot and other programs that increase accuracy

Radar and other programs that give locations of the enemy

Speedhacks and other programs that manipulate weapon rates of fire or player character speed.

Ushield and other programs that hide the running of 3rd party hacking type programs.( As we keep pointing out his program doesnt hide the running of a 3rd partie program)

So can you clearly show me what rule he broke? Because unless I missed something in english class he didnt break anything because when it comes down to it lockbox doesnt do what other programs do. It only hides the folders you choose. If he had a cheat running from the hidden folder it would still have a .exe instance showing in his task manager. Your rule on this is not very well written. It should say something like

Ushield and other programs that hide the running of 3rd party hacks or hide the location of these known hacks.

If it were written like that then you would have a leg to stand on.

Anyways Im done with this our points have been made and the admins are debating this as you know. Thanks for your efforts we do thank you..

Hacks can be renamed, hid in any location on your computer and CDC can find it. Also, the "hiding" that you call it in Vista does not work like you think it does. If you hide files, they're still around and can be found.

The only reason we're having a "shit fit" about it though is because up until there was a reason to take a closer look; nobody realized exactly how much the program "intrudes" on the system.

It's a legitimate and justified concern.

Thanks for your responses.
Thank you for posting how you think the rules should be worded Alaskan. You, along with everyone else in this post, has made very valid points.

I do apologize that it took this much to answer your questions and concerns, but hopefully you understand the fact that this issue has never arose despite the other bans that have been placed for using lockbox. Sometimes it takes something like this to "open" anyones eyes. . . and yes, even ours.

I hope you understand the measures we have to take to try to keep this community as clean as possible, and that just happened to be one of them.

After careful consideration, and 2 days worth of non stop research we have decided that bloods ban WILL be removed, effective immediately. Please allow time for the CDC server to propagate the removal. His CDC ban has been removed as of the time of this post, however he may not be able to connect to CDC tonight.

I also want to take this time to announce that not only will Bloods ban be removed, but every Lockbox ban as well.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we thank all of you players that have previously been banned for not attempting to circumvent or bypass the rule that is in the process of being changed.

Please keep in mind that we don't exactly have a "search" feature, so if you have previously been banned for lockbox and the ban has not been removed, please email the AC team immediately at AA_Anti-Cheat@TeamWarFare.com to correct the issue.
Thank you and Like I said USMC is always willing to help out. We should have always been more active in CDC but I guess we took for granted certain things and I can guarentee we will not over look anything in the future.

Big thanks to you and the rest of the admins.

Cipher and all the other TWL Admins,
Thanks for listening to every side of the conversation and believe me, you have gained the utmost respect from myself. I can't speak for everyone else, but I can speak for myself.

I agree whole-heartedly that it sometimes takes voicing another view in order to "open eyes". However, it also says a lot that you didn't hold your eyes shut and gave us a chance to give input on it without shutting the door as many other organizations would have done.

Thank you very much for your assistance in this manner and hopefully we've all learned something from working through it. My hat's off to you gentlemen.
Thank you.
