After a few weeks of competition..I want to encourage all the participating teams to give me some input on what's working, what's not working, improvements....etc. What can I do to make this work and draw some additional competition for you guys/gals.
I would like to be able to challenge people below you on the ladder. Since the ladder is rather small right now, I think in order to keep things moving you should be able to challenge anyone else in the ladder.
Well the idea is to have everyone striving for the top slot...kind of like playing king of the hill (a game us old timers used to play before pong). Challenging down may not put your team to the test.
But I would like to see the clans that signed up....start rocking!!
i think thats a TWL default, i think it should be a day or two longer...but we don't want people taking forever. I usually keep an eye on things and let it go more than 24 hrs and give the teams a reminder.
I think one of the problems we have run into is that not everyone is using the same version of shrub. Sometimes you can plant proximity mines, othertimes it's trip mines...sometimes you can steal a uniform, othertimes you can't.
bah..who...its not shrub 3.1.1...3.0.1b (i think)..the new one still has bugs. By the way, I'm tryign to get a shrub competition mod together...well see how far i get.
The one main thing is the ready up. This should be enabled. Tired of asking if the other team is ready or if live. One of our DSB members made a cfg with some nice adjustments if you care to view. We are not using yet but would like to.
What is the proper version and did you find out how to revert back? Whats wrong with the new version?
There are pro's and con's to using this. On the one hand, it prevents the problem you noted. On the other, if everyone runs around shooting one another and one gets skulled in the process..you have to reset. Also, if you stand too long while your waiting for the other team to get their act together, you could be dropped due to inactivity.
I sent the config files to TrimHunter last nite.
The problem with the newer shrub...and maybe its been corrected, but it was causing some servers to freeze...again this may have been corrected.
yea...i need to go back and do another advertising campaign. When I kicked it off in May, I posted it all over the place. Do me a favor and spread the word...thats the best advertising! Thx.
