Wheres the WT League?

geez, c'mon Zed quit slackin! Sooner or later people will see the ultimate power that is Wolf Tactics. When that day comes, I'm sure TWL will be setting up the ladder and/or league. Just curious if any TWL admins have talked with and WT dudes (not animeman, he dances funny) and got some ideas of match flow.

Last I heard the most likely scenario would be around 8 players. Reminds me when TWL had 8 on 8 rtcw ladders I think with the leagues ending and WT about to be released, we may see a lot of people join the game and see what its all about. If the interest is there then hopefully we can get a league or ladder setup the way the developers designed it to be played.

One thing I would like to avoid early is the fear of new maps. I have seen people making some custom maps already so maybe we can get them into the groove early if they are good enough. Also, I would like to set the team size early. The whole 6 vs 7 shit in wolf was ridiculous no matter how you felt about it. I would like to hear form the developers the exact number they think it should be played. If TWL can set up some WT competion early then they can set the standards rather than CAL k, 3 paragraphs is enough for now. Much for the TWL dudes!
Mich is in close contact with the WT dev team. He will ge info on flow of the game and team sizes. Getting a ladder up takes a matter of minutes and since we have a forum here for the game..we intend to get a ladder up ASAP. Mich still needs to get more game info so we can get rules created.

But to answer your question TWL is totally into supporting WT. Ladder play seems like the most logical way to go first.
Speaking from the inside, but not officially here, 7-11 is the target area, depending on map and public taste. TFC played between 6 and 9, though it's usual was 7, and our maps will support a similar flexibility. I think 8/9 players is perhaps the most realistic assumption for team play, especially on the larger maps.

We're introducing, as I guess you know, a shedload of new maps, all of these maps are created by dev team members. Many of these are inspired by the TF maps that came before us, heavily adapted with nothing held sacred - everything we've hated about the originals in the past has been altered in some way, and we hope everyone else enjoys the changes

We have a mapping guide prepped and ready, aswell as a new radiant .def file for our new community mappers - this will add some items we've introduced to the game, aswell as additional functionality to existing entities.

I cannot stress to you enough how important custom maps are in keeping a community live and fresh. It's good to hear some positive intent from hitting the ground. I am not sure what the dev team policy will be on custom maps and making them official/sponsored etc. I am led to beleive that you can only have a certain number of custom pk3's before wolfenstein gets a little upset (nothing to do with client/server relationships.. simply too many). If this is the case, leagues may have to set up map packs of all custom maps they wish to play. I'm sure the clan forum on http://www.wolftactics.com will happily post a sticky link with all active league's map packs and conditions.

As has already been said though, all this stuff is being discussed, and, I hope some balanced rules come out of it.

Thanks for your time and support. Both players and TWL
I hope WT and their dedication to the clan community is a shot in the ass for wolf
I dont view WT as a shot in the ass for wolf. I see it as an entirely new game. If people fall in love with WT, they will play WT, not RTCW.

Also, thanx for your post Evil. Its almost like an update on your site, it will hold me over for another few days
My pleasure.. and whilst I'm here, I'll take the opportunity to mention your avatar on Planetwolf scares seven shades out of me
