ie. bhd ctf - rot is ranked 4th even though they have record of 4-0 but HEL is ranked 3rd with 0-1 record.
is it always gonna stay like that or is it gonna be updated so teams are ranked according to record
Record has no bearing on rank in a ladder system, it's merely a second hand tool used to judge a team's performance.
What determines your rank on a ladder is who you beat. If you beat the #1 team and you are #7, you are now the #1 team. The #1 team is now #2 and the #2 is now #3 and so on and so forth. The goal of the ladder is to have the best teams at the top of the ladder fighting it out for the top spots. Over time you will notice in a ladder that the best teams will be higher ranked because you have to win to stay up there.
ROT has played lower ranking teams and won, thus they've worked their way up the ladder literally from the bottom. This is exactly what is supposed to happen. So every time SAW plays a match they are defending their top spot.
Let me know if I explained this well enough. It makes so much sense to me because I know it and I'm not sure I do a good job of explaining it.
we could do leagues as well. There are some out there already for BHD which is why we chose to do a ladder initially. If enough teams show an interest leagues are definitely an option I would consider.
I'd like to see more of the DF community here at TWL. Hopefully in the coming months participation will pick up. Summer is always a slow time for online gaming.
