Ok...9 teams on the A&D ladder. It's sad, I see so many squads every night in the pubs, yet majority of them aren't competing. All that is needed is 10 teams. Are there any teams out there that you know of that TWL can contact to get that ladder active?
We are willing to change that. But in order to do so we have to have an open ladder with suggestions on scoring from the members of that ladder.
One idea I had was to score each map based on exact score (i.e. 600-120, 250-374, etc.) This would allow the game to be fair and not be rated on who did what but which team scored the most points...either by attacking or defending. To keep it fair, all three maps would be selected at random which would also determine who would attack and who would defend on each map. Does that sound feasible?
do that.. but with knives.. have both teams all get on one alley.. 1 by 1 do a 1v1 knifeoff in that alley.. whoever gets the most 1v1 knife kills at the end = the winner...
anyways that was our idea lol.. brings a lil bit of fun into it
you defend, you need to attack as fast and hard as youi can. team work is needed way more. When you are going to blow the last satchel/target(s) you type "satchel" and everyone in the server can then note the time (because it isn't shown in the score screen.) Then while Defending that same map, you only have to defend untill that time passes. doing so earns you the win for that map (A&B counted as 1)
This gets rid of your idea, because one team could own in kills, but then then the attaching team could still manage to blow all the targets (the point of the game) and still lose. More often then not anyway, the defending team will out kill the attacking.
IT also changes the problem now, were if you make it to the last map, one side has the clear advantage. Some maps are so easy to attack, they only last a few min vs a good team. the eye of the dead tkoth map that is made into A&D for one example, only takes a few min to blow. Any squad with a few medics and people smart enough to run with their knives out will always get all targets.
This is how we play most of our private matches...
HOW YOU WIN: Teams will play both sides of 3 maps. Each team has the chance to attack and defend each map. The attacking team wins by destroying all of the enemy's targets. The defending team wins by not letting the enemy destroy all of their targets within a certain time period.
The first team to win 4 sides (Any combination of Attack and Defend) of the 3 maps wins the match. In the event of a tie (3 and 3) the tiebreaker map is played. Only one side of the tiebreaker map is played. Sudden death overtime.
WHAT MAPS DO YOU WANT TO PLAY? (Your team chooses two, we choose one. Then...)
TIE BREAKER MAP - We choose a tiebreaker map. In the event of a tie breaker, the team who goes ahead first after the first match will choose to attack or defend the tie breaker map. (Examples: 2 to 0, 2 to 1)
Crossfire A - B
Defensive Assault A - B - (Teams will need to exit the server briefly to play both sides of this map)
Dust and Bones A - B
Ground Fire A - B
Lost and Dead A - B
Rapid Fire A - B
Snakepit A - B
Urban Raid A - B

Also, We are creating an exact replica of Last Request. Which is almost done. We have plans to replicate Firestone Ridge and fix the Defensive Assault map change.
there is no even way to do tiebreakers.. even timed doesnt work.. not all teams go for super fast blowups.. some teams go for 2 targets at a time..
i would keep it how it is where if its a tiebreaker you should be able to defend or attack.. doesnt matter the map OR the side if your in 1st place you will have deserved that place because you can do both.. at least thats how i see it.. but more ideas keep em comin..
I'd like to get the team captains of the A & D ladder together on teamspeak to talk and take a vote on how we will be doing the scoring. Please post days you would be available.
thats what im sayin 12.. thats what i think it should stay but its still not fair.. for all teams.. its not like TDM where you kill and whoever kills wins.. some teams are better at attacking or defending i dunno i could really care less.. but whatever it is everyone should agree to it..
and im open anytime at night.. and im normally in UD's ts server nomex so hit me up
it shouldn't matter if you can attack or defend better, you should be able to do both. And the rules should reflect the that. By making it on time you have to both attack, and defend equally. With a tie breaker, you miss one.
Some teams may be a slow attacking squad. But then this keeps the games more interesting. You would have to attack, and not loop around for 30 min hoping they fall asleep so you can slip past.
This isn't TDM, kills don't matter the same way only blowing targets should matter. It isn't TKOTH, You can't go base rape them, you need to stay next to those targets.
If the team your playing against blows all the targets in 15 min, then when you attack you have to Push yourself more to beat them. the next map, you should attack first, this way your setting the pace for them.
Sure with this method all targets may not get blown. both teams may go the distance. then base it on targets. IF you can blow 5/6 in a map, and we only got 2/6, you did better attacking and defending. you should win that.
My views on this are almost the same as pipes..
I found Nomex's post too long so he might have mentioned this but imo if its a tie it should go down to exact points.
plain and simple, the tie breaker has it's advantages, and we all know it. If you choose to defend on rapid fire then you are more than likely gonna win, cuz it's dam near impossible to attack.... Not saying it can't be done..but it's hard.
personally i would keep it the same way as if your #1 you should be able to attack OR defend no matter what.. if your in #1 you should deserve it..
timed tiebreakers is geared towards teams who attack faster.. some teams are more methodical with targets.. it gives you 30 min. for a reason.. but there are a lot of different ways.. its good that peeps are puttin out ideas though.. really does help a ladder be the best it can be when people toss their input out there..
