Would get more teams than Brink....

#51
+1 on this.
I also would like to see this happen - Perhaps Virus from STA would like to be involved?

http://www.team-crossbreed.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2734

There was also a thread on here (I cannot find it now) about last year that had several people interested in playing - they even spoke of rounding up some old ET admins but nothing happened after that.

There are also several xfire communities devoted to NA ET that have many active members willing to play and an IRC channel on quakenet.org (america.et) that is constantly active and used to find scrims/pugs/mixes.

I believe there are enough players to successfully run another season of TWL.

I agree with the above posts, NA et is not dead yet and recently has shown some signs of life. I know that with the right admins on the job we could get a lot of old teams to come back as well as new teams to sign up for any new event that TWL would plan on putting into action. Please TWL let us show you guys that ET is still worth picking up!
Ya I also support this idea of TWL returning to ET and know that many also would. I know of many players who want to make competitive teams, but they are demotivated by the fact that there's no working league here in NA ET. So please bring back TWL.
Honestly ET is only going to survive if people want to make it survive. If people want to play they need to get online (xfire or mirc) and let people know. There is a core of guys that have been scrimming consistently that would love to expand. All we need is for fraggers to get on and get in the game.
Would be very cool see et make a come back.... i support this thread.
I'd be down. There's quite a few players on some irc channels every day. Need a lottttttt more though.

ET BACK PLEASE
where are these et players in irc? Theres been a resurgence of people playing et? lolno The same 10-15 people still play this game, and that's it. I'm sure we could field a team, but after the first week or two (if we get that far) i can basically guarantee nobody shows

Shafty too mad :[ plenty of NA teams playing in Clanbase and ESL, plus the South American teams and most likely some euro's will play too (i.e. myself)

+1 and colin and swagger/godfather say +1 also
Well, would be nice to play ET in Na with a descent ping once again, and as manager of Team Chile i aprove this thread
I would consider joining a team. And if I do commit to a team, I don't no-show a match. I know that not everyone is like that, and I went through what Shafty is talking about, in the last seasons of TWL.

Has anything changed in the NA comp community since TWL season (then ladder) died?

If you tried hard enough you could possibly get teams like nWo, ._ (Pointblank), [id], bpc, [NbK] to come back, I mention these teams in particular because their players are still around and easy to contact. Not only that but Ballistic's vent has about 10 players who still pub ET, and if you talked to yucko and he was interested he would set up a team too (Howl, Braden, Hydro, etc). I'd be nice for this to work, but it would probably require most if not all of these teams to come back with the participation of team colombia and chile, current NA teams, and the euro teams active in NA. The only problem with this is, will old players that don't play competitively anymore come back to play in a league against active teams?

We dont want Nbk back.
Let them play!
Dedz needs to earn internet monies to feed his 3 kids
I agree with all these posts (minus shaftys)

even if a league doesn't come up, at least it could be a ladder (I know TWL hosted an rtcw ladder a year or two back) at least it would promote competition within the game - and I know there would at least be matches on the ladder as opposed to the new games *cough* brink *cough*
Shit like this has been going on for a long time.

Hell, a recent website popped up even practically begging Activision to remake RTCW
http://wolfmp.info/

The fact of the matter is, most people left to pursue other games, only to find out most were hype.

I'd come back to this game if it was actually active, and I left fairly late. Most people bailed pretty early. While a league is stretching potential, I think a ladder would suffice to see how much interest is left.

YOU MAD CUZ LOST VS HUMMEL?
I support this but i dont see it happening.
I do agree with the idea, as a former ETL League Admin i would like to see another push up to revive the NA ET Community, Let's do it!

Greetings.
if this happens I'll play for any team made out of alpha males
If anyone wants to see this happen, they need to continue to spread the word to friends and clanmates. Also contacting any current Euro and South American teams who might be interested would be useful as well. TWL's currently looking at interest level and the more interest in something like a league or ladder means the more likely TWL is to host. I can ensure everyone though that myself and a few others are working as hard as possible to see that this happens. What we need is everyone spamming forums, xfire and IRC to make this happen!

Also make sure everyone organizes either here or on CB's forums at the following thread: http://www.team-crossbreed.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=62

theres a few players left still excited about playing comp, bring twl back
+1 would love to bring it back!

but I'm also getting a feeling of one or two teams just being way to strong that other teams, and the teams that are constantly loosing will just be discouraged and not be willing to play.

at absolute max, there will be 7 teams. It takes 10 active teams to justify any kind of league. there will be constant forfeits, and no admins. virus always says he'll be around, but disappears almost immediately (it's happened 3 times now). That being said, if we can get a real admin that will be on top of ladder stuff, reschedules, forfeits ect, than it could be done without much hassle. The backend is already in place and the majority of us have our old accounts still apparently. why the eff not
lets make this happen!!

play with decent ping again would be awesome DD
I hate you all. Lets play Legion.
+1 i think it would be a great idea to put et back in twl

Indeed. I've disappeared 4 times though. Make sure you get your facts straight before bashing.

Seriously though... I'm the one NA ET Admin still around doing ANYTHING. Sponge all he does is bash ET and Slac. Most other admins got burned out by 12 year old kids and left for greener pastures.
I have said this to many people who keep spamming me this link NONSTOP, and I have told them the very same thing that I will tell you... and all of them have agreed with me and suggested that I post it for their sakes...

I think we have all seen way too many of these threads in the past couple of years in an attempt to "revive the et competition scene," and it seems to never go anywhere... It always gets quick attention to those who are not currently active in the game or those who are are not interested or, not able to quickly prepare or create a team on the fly...

If you want to bring the competition scene back then don't quickly create a season league, but do some thinking about the format and test all of the circumstances in a LADDER FORM of some sort... it will allow the admins to test out the format and prepare to SECURE a SOLID group of teams... It will give the active players enough time to test out the format and will also allow them to get together any "old school" or "experienced players" convinced that the league is actually taking it serious and when a season will come around it enables them to "brush up" their skills and commit to the format and prepare for the season appropriately. It will also get the players together and make sure they have an active and committed group who are not only dedicated but will also hold up when the season has began. A ladder will also be able to be flexible in terms of scheduling the times and dates for which players will be able to commit to playing matches, and it gives EVERYONE a chance to create their teams WELL before the season(s) have began.

As far as the Idea of attempting to bring back the community, I think it's great, but I'm tired of getting spammed all of these "attempted" leagues, which go absolutely NOWHERE. Personally I don't blame the people which have said in the posts above ^^^ that its "useless" and a "waste of time." However if you put some actual planning behind it before you just start a season then you might actually get a decent response.
agreed, bring ET back to twl.

I think we tried something like that for ETL or clanbase something a year or two ago, and it didn't turn out so great. I'd retry it, and if it works out better than that did then I'm happy but I think teams playing right now already are too busy playing in euro-ladders and won't convert to american ladders because they have doubts about it

Well if the players aren't patient enough to wait for the season by playing ladders matches and allow time for the format to be perfected... then they aren't dedicated enough to play in the season at all.

yea I think both ran a ladder, however two major things I'd like to point out. ETL's website for anything tourney related was not very user-friendly so I can understand why people didn't use it. Clanbase's ladder was running alongside of other major american leagues like STA/Kardon's EPL (?) so that's why there was a lack of interest in it - otherwise I would've played in it, but I know I was already involved in so much. Anyway, TWL's format is very user-friendly and easy to use and I agree with vorgue said about testing the waters; at least it gives people the option to play when they wanna play, and WHO they wanna play.
