ET crashing after a few minutes of playing

Hey guys I updated my ET to 2.60b following the directions given by the other thread "incorrect et.exe version". I thought my ET was crashing because I had the wrong patch number but turns out thats not the case.

Anywho, after like two minutes of gameplay ET just decides to freeze! I cant do anything except restart even the numlock key wont light up.

Currently I'm running ET on my work laptop. Specs:

T42
----
1.6ghz centrino
2gigs of ram
32 meg ati radeon 7000 mobility

So according to the specs I should be able to play ET since i played on a 16 meg video card heh.

I'm not sure what the problem is, does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

update vid drivers, make sure PB is updated. http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Hey regarding updating VID drivers. Do any of you guys know where the drivers for ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7000 is? I can not find it on the website for ATI (AMD NOW).

thats what i got, although it didnt list a mobility radeon 7000, just a radeon 7000, which is what that is. im not sure if thatll work though, so dont install it till others verify that itll work.

Damn it - I dont know why this doesnt work I stalled CoD and CS and they both work fine. Just not ET - It sucks cause I get pretty good fps before it crashes too : (

thats odd, since CoD and CS are more GPU-based than ET is... maybe your computer just doesnt like 2.60b, but all it is is a security update from 2.60, so if 2.60 ran fine (im assuming it did and that you didnt upgrade from 2.55 or w/e), then 2.60b should run fine as well. maybe your config is screwing with you?

and as whoops said, make sure PB is updated... i think most of the issues with ET crashing result from PB screwing up, and if youre able to play for 2 mins before crashing, that seems even more likely that its PB since PB takes some time to check you for hacks.

and btw, centrino isnt a processor, its an intel CPU, mobo, and wireless card package. the CPU would be either a celeron (aka trash) or a pentium M. check that
