Enemy Territory 1v1 Duels Ladder Open!

After a few small bumps, the 1v1 Duels Ladder is now open and accepting your challenges!

Keep in mind this ladder is very new, and you are bound to run into problems; TWL is already one of the largest, if not THE largest 1v1 ladder that I know of, so we're treading on new territory here!

I strongly reccomend everyone to challenge and play as much as you can (remember, you are allowed and encouraged to play matches early, if you can find your opponent!) and any suggestions to rules be posted here.

Comments on the maps are also wanted-- right now we're working on adding a Reactor Arena to hopefully sharpen up your shooting skills for the upcoming matches in league play!

The basic rundown of the rules:

- Field Ops only (Soldier SMGs can be played if agreed upon in Match Comms)
- Max lives of 20 - play until you're out!
- Best of 3 rounds
- One airstrike/artillery per round - make it count!
- Maps selected from a pool of 6: BeerRun Arena, NARF Practice, CTF Well, Valhalla, MP_Rocket Arena, and Stonehenge.

Moss: The problem is, once one side is losing, they can merely stay in their spawn, and just hold up the game. It doesn't work for competition unless you spawn ready to fight like in the current maps.

plus, it's a little too simple and small to warrant a permanent spot in the map list (same goes for decerto's arenas)

when trying to join the ladder, it does not come up on my list of ladders to join under rung based ladders. Am I missing something?

For those who are wondering, cg_instanttapout 1 will turn off the Max Lives message.

I'm also working on a solution to the "You have been temporarily banned because Max Lives is set, blah blah" error. Make sure you have an alternate contact set up with your opponent, otherwise you may find yourself unable to reconnect.

I'm also seeing if I can get a public match server running, with all the maps and configs, to be used by whoever needs it.

so is there a forfit rule???

Same as every other ladder. Non-acceptance forefits are handled by me whenever I see one pop up. No-shows are handled through match dispute.

how long should it be for a match to be accepted?

i challenged 2 days ago...

mine was a no show. it was 6/17/05 at 10:30 eastern. i waited for an hr.

I beat lores once >_<. Is there a way I can watch these demos without running et? Can I change the format to something that will play in windows media player or something?

http://www.boozze.be/site/download.do?id=5 Install and double click on the demo to watch 1v1 is more about running the map than shooting. Shooting can only help you 50% the rest is just thinking about where to move and timing. in other words... no i dont think im a good shooter.

THAT DIdnt work. I get a cmd window and it just closes. Maybe its not compatible with windows 98? Sorry my work computer is kinda outdated.

No, the TWL system hates me, and refuses to let me kick certain people. He is one of them.

Well his 7-0 record is a little inflated. Hes had 4 forfeit wins and somehow he beat ieatalottapeanuts twice on the same night? But sure if you wanna watch me just come by. But nobody wants to watch a 1v1 unless they are in the top 20 and want to get an edge with other people's playing styles.

You can remove yourself if you dont have any pending matches. If you do have a match pending, just forfeit that one and quit the 1v1 ladder

You realize it took you more effort to post it here than to actually quit? Right next to the admin option where you can challenge people or accept matches, it says QUIT. Might wanna try looking around instead of relying on other people to think for you. thanks
