hey everyoine, i got a quick question. i am recently coming back to the gme after not playing for quite some time. I remember when i left people where starting to change configs for easier strafe jumping and such, and turning off weather effects.

how much of this is considered fairplay, and could some one tell me what i should change, and how to do it? or point me in the general direction of where to find out?

ty in advance.
You can find the server configs in the TWL downloads section - they contain the legal PB values and such that you can use.

In your case it might be easier to download someone else's config from et-center.com or et-configs.com and just modify it.
ok, i dled a config fle, and there are a few things i wanted to change, like mouse speed, a few buttons, stuff like that. so i did it in game, but when ever i leave a game and come back to are back to what they were before. could you tell me how to keep them the way i like them?
Make the changes a part of the autoexec.cfg file, and exec this in game. Settings may also depend on what mod you're playing when you make the changes.

you have to change all that stuff in the config not in game. If you do it in game it doesnt modify your config it only modifies etconfig.cfg so if you ever do your autoexec again all changes will be gone. You have to actually go to etmain and edit your binds.cfg or whatever file your config happens to be named
im a noob, how do i do that?
k, figured out you need to open the cfg files in note pad. i changed everything i needed to do, but i have one problem.

every time i open the game, it opens in 800x600 res, no fullscreen.

i want it to be 1152x864 not fullscreen or whatnot, and every time i change it in game the next time i start it is back to the old way.

i truied changing custom dimensions in the cvars cfg file, but that doesnt help at all. any ideas?
I think that resolution is 7, look for a line in the config that says r_mode "x" and change it to a 7.
also save your config as something else like myconfig.cfg and pull down console and type /exec myconfig.cfg

I believe theres a good chance your etconfig.cfg can be overwritten but dont quote me on that
ty shaky, that solved it.

i must say, i appreciate all the help so much. this is one of the first gaming forums i have been to where shouts of noob where thrown around and there where more flame wars then black sabbath reunion tours..

ty so much for the hospitality
Zip it n00b! And go back on tour with Sabbath. Or something.

Bah, I hate to see anyone disappointed in life, just doing my part to help out.
