Another possible TR2 ladder starting up

For everyone that thinks LakRabbit helps aim, so can TR2, since MA's are rewarded as well.

And of course learning how to lead the flag for catches and how the flag bounces and such can be used in ctf. Ask anyone who has played tr2 alot and still plays ctf. Knowing how to angle tosses and catch dropped flags is a breeze in ctf compared to tr2.

Lol I think TR2 would feel slow w/ Classic physics.

TR2 is probably at least 2 times faster then Classic; check your speed hud if you don't believe me.

Oh btw, i havent read all of the thread, because I have to go to school soon to pick up absolute. :> But if a ladder is in the works, gota have a poll from people in the t2 community. Why? Because you dont want to make a ladder with 10-12 teams on it. Lets see if we can get a lot of people in on it.

What would you do? Slow it down? Never!

I'm one of the coders. And you would have to do some very real convincing for me to even consider changing the physics.

I have played T1, T2base and T2classic and I am personally hooked on the TR2 physics. In fact I am hoping they will use the TR2 physics as a starting point for T:V (maybe the reason they snatched up KP?).

I'm pretty sure that tr2 was done as a test for T:V and as is well known now (but not at the time), KP stopped working on tr2 in order to work on T:V. It's guaranteed that there will be some form of team rabbit in T:V, just nobody seems know the exact form it will take. As for the tr2 physics itself, they were used because they're much better suited to the fast paced style of tr2.

He's talking about weapon physics AND game physics. The weapon physics are completely different at the moment, so when you play TR2, you actually get WORSE at Classic, unless you're some kind of amazing adaptable player who learns better in different physics. In which case, more power to you.

They haven't. Thank god. Watched it at UVA, nothing like TR2 gayed out physics. (not that it will or won't change)

tr2 was pretty much done before irrational hired kp..

It might not have started out as such, but they did look at it that way in the end. Also there were still MANY bugs and gameplay issues that needed to be solved.

i like TR2 except for the fact that only 1 timers count. I always liked playing goalie, catching a shot attempt skiing across the map and tossing it into the opposing teams goal to score.

Is there actually a physics engine difference that causes the disc to appear at different places or is because in tr2 it's essentially chasing people at at least twice the speeds you'll ever go in classic?

The complexity of the game is far more rewarding with one timers only. I suggest if you want to see some amazing one timing check out the T2TV aC- vs mHc on Surreal by Southface. Both Invictus and Krash made amazing one timers in the match. I think they were 6 lead changes. It's an exciting match to watch.

Talk to people, I think Lat had mentioned he wanted to play. Get 3-4 people and email to PM Bugspray and make a team. You will definatly find it's worth the minimal amount of effort to get a team together.

The disc does appear to come out left or right if you are moving fast. I've never seen it come out a foot though. And don't forget, tr2 is a fast game, if you move that fast in classic the discs would do the same. I'm not disagreeing that the two aren't different, just saying that it is not as bad as you make it out to be. And it probably has to do with the speed of tr2.
