I love this map. It's better from an O perspective, but even when I LD it's still fun. Man wtf. Let's all make 10 600m maps with flags on a flat stand surrounded by a bowl so cappers can go fast without worrying about having to do anything

Well, I have only played boss once in 7man classic and we had our ass handed to us. Does not me anything except our strat sucked ass. I have played it in base 7man many times. The base 7man team I belong to now, recently played it and won though I was only in there for 5 minutes after someone dropped. I usually play LD or HOF for all my teams. I must say, Boss is one challenging as hell map to chase on, simply because of the large hills. There is just no room for error meaning you better not mis the cappers route or you are stuck sliding down with no energy. It is a tuff LD map, but so what. Its variety. I Like it. It helps to have good snipers to ofcourse. HEHE

As far as Drifts. SIGNED. Great map. As far as peeps loading up on HoFs, so what. Good. Its one less in the field being productive for the enemy imo. Mortars do not discriminate. They tend to kill two or three HoFs just as fast as one. :-)

Boss has some dynamic flaws in gameplay for classic that just makes it a bad map.

As mentioned already a few times, your LD has to really be on the ball to have a chance at this map.

PLus the easy routes for HO to land on TOP of the towers where they can rain down death on the LD that has nowhere to hide jsut makes it a near impossible map to D.

Add the ability for HO to sit IN the towers, again, spamming the flag area, and any timed cap is gonan get away clean.

That being said, the map does have potential. Reove the tower tops, or make them slanted so ho cannot stand/land on them, and change the tower entrances to back only.

Effect? HO can still land on bridge and cause chaos, but wont live nearly as long.

Give the LD a little more room to manuever, maybe widen the birde a little towards the back of the map, make the 2 top entraces to the tower face the back as well.

We don't have a problem with LD on Boss... and as for me personally, the map has lower fps than others, but it's not difficult to defend (not even close to "impossible")

Just do what I do and stop playing t2. Forcing yourself to justify certain 3rd party scripts or files to maintain a competitive edge just isn't worth it. The game is about having fun, not being number one.

yes, but I think with classic speed, you can put much more pressure on the base helping your capper get it out easier... making it a "little" more playable.

The base++ and classic ladders are distinctly different, and as such they have (had) their own map packs. We don't want Drifts "back" because it was never on the classic ladder to begin with.

The POINT about Boss is not that 1 person is a better LD than others, the POINT is that a GOOD offense will overpower a GREAT defense with ease.

Dont see it? Then IMHO you dont know how to "judge" maps effectivly.

OPIONIONS are a waste of space in this discussion.
EVALUATIONS based on BALANCE are the only form of constructive critiscm that can honestly be used to make informed decesions.

^^ This is why the map council will never work BTW. Too many people letting their personal opinions based on THIER "primary" position infuence a decesion that should be made based on the good of the game in WHOLE.
